Episode 14 recap: Jiang Xi returned to her original workstation.
Jiang Hai found a job through a recruitment agency, but on her first day at work, her colleagues brainwashed her, saying that fate was in their own hands and that some people could earn over a hundred thousand in a month. Mi Xue found Wei Ming and suggested that they could start with Gu Xu and Lin Shuang, who were college classmates. However, Wei Ming immediately rejected this approach, stating that Lin Shuang and Wei Ming were rivals during their university days.
On Jiang Hai's first day of work, she secured three deals. Wei Ming approached Huang Jia Yi and admitted that Da Wei was indeed responsible for the incident, but she shouldn't use her privileged status as a wealthy heiress to blame others. Instead, she should rely on her professional abilities, leaving no room for criticism. Jia Yi expressed her understanding, and Wei Ming reminded her that she would have to walk a lot today, suggesting she change into a pair of flat shoes.
When Lin Shuang attended a class, she encountered an Ark employee. She quickly greeted them and mentioned that she had to pick up her child before leaving. Upon arriving at the school, Lin Shuang ran into Jiang Xi, who mentioned that Guo Guo had asked for Lin Shuang's phone number the last time they got lost. Lin Shuang was surprised that Guo Guo actually remembered and called her when she found her. Lin Shuang admitted that she shouldn't have said those things to Guo Guo during their last encounter. Jiang Xi agreed, stating that those words shouldn't have been said at the hospital. Lin Shuang shared that she had informed their parents about the divorce, and they fully supported her decision. Jiang Xi remarked that it was good, as life is supposed to be that way. Lin Shuang candidly expressed that she seemed nonchalant about everything because she had never experienced any hardships in her life. Upon learning about Jiang Xi's plan to resign, Lin Shuang apologized and Jiang Xi reassured her that it was okay since she couldn't have done much to help anyway. Lin Shuang mentioned that when she asked for Jiang Xi's help the other day, she immediately agreed. A few months ago, she couldn't have imagined herself asking Jiang Xi for help. Jiang Xi said that it was probably fate's arrangement.
Lin Shuang, Jiang Xi, and Guo Guo played together. It was only now that Lin Shuang realized that perhaps they weren't on the same path before, but from now on, they would be together. Jiang Xi returned home and was surprised to see Jiang Hai working. He said not to be too surprised in the future because he had found a job himself. They had agreed to sign a contract with him tomorrow. He, as a design student, could also work in sales, showing his versatility. Lin Shuang found Aunt Deng to do household chores at her home and unexpectedly saw Jiang Hai at the kindergarten gate. Jiang Hai told her that he had found a job and offered to help pick up and drop off their child if needed. Lin Shuang appreciated his kindness but told him it wasn't necessary. Jiang Hai didn't listen and directly asked if it would be okay for him to come and pick her up in the future. Guo Guo agreed, and after that, he left. Aunt Deng cleaned the room spotlessly, and with Jiang Hai picking up and dropping off Guo Guo every day, Lin Shuang suddenly had a lot of free time. Guo Guo asked Jiang Hai why adults get divorced. Jiang Hai said it was a bit early for her to ask that question, but divorces happen because two people aren't as happy together as they are alone. Guo Guo wondered if Mom would be happier if she got divorced. Lin Shuang felt happy seeing Guo Guo's reaction and told Jiang Hai to hurry back in case there was traffic.
Upon hearing the report from his subordinates, Gu Xu immediately recalled what Lin Shuang had told him before. Jiang Xi, angered by Wei Ming's comment about his personal matters, sought solace from Lin Shuang. He frankly stated that if he really confronted Wei Ming, he feared he wouldn't be able to establish himself in this industry. He then vented about his bitter past, leaving Lin Shuang unsure of how to comfort him. Ming Bo found a job for Jiang Xi, and she expressed her gratitude. Jiang Xi thought he was just being given a small favor to take advantage of him, and he left without continuing the conversation.
Wei Ming tried to meet Gu Xu but was informed by the receptionist that he had a dinner and couldn't be disturbed. Later, Gu Xu met Wei Ming at the Ark and greeted Jiang Xi.
