Episode 19 recap: Wei Ming has an affair with Huang Jiayi.
Wei Ming intentionally made Huang Jiayi fall in love with him but consistently rejected her. Huang Jiayi became obsessed with love and was willing to confront her family for it. Her pursuit of Wei Ming drove her to madness. Wei Ming deliberately continued to reject her but also praised her as the type of woman that all men like. However, he reminded her that he is a married man, using this as a means to make Huang Jiayi unable to give up on him.
Huang Jiayi found Wei Ming and offered to introduce him to some connections. Wei Ming explained that Huang Dong would take this matter seriously, and if he were to use her connections, he would be looked down upon. Huang Jiayi assured him that it didn't matter and she just wanted everyone to think that she liked him. Wei Ming admitted that he also liked her but in a superior-to-subordinate kind of way. Huang Jiayi expressed disbelief, and Wei Ming bluntly stated that she is indeed an attractive girl but he is a married man. An An confronted Ming Bo about why he was doing this. Ming Bo explained that he had no choice, but the decision was made by Wei Ming, and he was also considering her.
In order to help Wei Ming secure a major deal, Huang Jiayi forcefully drank alcohol until her father arrived and stopped her. Her father expressed that he dotes on her and loves her, which is why he doesn't want her to degrade herself in this way. Huang Jiayi revealed that they have never really known what she wants. Her father asked her what she truly wants, and Huang Jiayi said she just wants Wei Ming. Unable to persuade her, her father could only suggest that if she continues in this manner, Wei Ming should leave Fangzhou. Huang Jiayi, in order to stand up for Wei Ming and confront her family, ran away.
In the pouring rain, Wei Ming saw Huang Jiayi crying and said that their relationship was a beautiful accident. Wei Ming initially intended to help her put on her coat and leave, but ended up taking her to a hotel. Wei Ming expressed his gratitude, assuring her that he appreciated her efforts. Huang Jiayi replied that it was nothing and that she just wanted a complete him. Jiang Hai arranged for their mother to go out and have a good time to prevent her from disturbing their work. He then called his sister to thank her for providing him with information. Upon hearing that Wei Ming was looking for her, Jiang Xi rushed over. Wei Ming criticized her work as being somewhat negative, and since everyone thought this collaboration happened because of Jiang Xi, she should leave her position to avoid suspicion. Jiang Xi understood the situation and agreed to cooperate with the company.
Jiang Xi met with Lin Shuang at a coffee shop, and she expressed that Wei Ming kicked her out of Panshi. Lin Shuang questioned how Wei Ming, knowing about her relationship with Panshi, could remove her so quickly. Jiang Xi explained that Wei Ming now had a new backer, and in her judgment, he was already with Huang Jiayi. Lin Shuang stumbled down the stairs, and Jiang Mu hurried over. Jiang Xi pulled her mother away, and Jiang Xi could only apologize to Lin Shuang over the phone.
