Episode 9 recap: Lin Shuang instructed Jiang Xi to search for evidence of Wei Ming betraying the company.
Jiang Xi expressed, "Don't I have the right to love him? I instinctively wanted to hug Wei Ming, but he pushed me away. He told me that if I had any sense, I should stay away from Lin Shuang, or he would find ways to make me unable to stand on my own." Jiang Kai found Wei Ming and said, "You still care about your female subordinate in the middle of the night, and the crucial point is that you're involved in a romantic relationship. Now you can't just shake it off, right?" Wei Ming challenged Jiang Kai, saying that if he didn't have evidence, he could sue him for defamation.
Lin Shuang realized that Guo Guo wasn't feeling well and regretted standing by Wei Ming's side, forcing her to wear clothes she didn't like. Wei Ming entered and said that he and Jiang Xi had a slight romantic connection, but from today onwards, they were done. He admitted that she was the most exceptional person he had ever lost to, but since the day she gave up her career for love, that outstanding Lin Shuang disappeared.
Jiang Xi returned home to find that Jiang Hai had already cleaned the room and prepared delicious food for her. Jiang Xi asked if there was something he wanted to talk to her about, but Jiang Hai said there wasn't, he was just worried about the possibility of friends coming over and seeing everything, which would be awkward.
Lin Shuang went to see a lawyer but ended up witnessing a fight between the lawyer and someone else. She immediately intervened and separated them. The lawyer told her that she had already made Wei Ming give up half of his assets, and she would continue to work hard.
Feng Kai was scolded by Ling Zong for a long time. He approached Wei Ming and asked if she was behind this. Lin Shuang approached Jiang Xi and asked if she could help her find evidence of Wei Ming betraying the company. This would not only serve as leverage for her divorce but also for her own benefit. Lin Shuang then informed her about Wei Ming's habit of setting passwords, and it turned out that his password wasn't anyone's birthday but the anniversary of his promotion to director.
Guo Guo told Lin Shuang that she received praise again today and also received an interview notice from Panshi Company. Gu Xu learned that there was a problem with the company's system and immediately took action to resolve it, gaining the unanimous recognition of his colleagues.
During the interview, Lin Shuang saw Gu Xu. She expressed her thoughts, saying that she returned to the workplace to set an example for her daughter and show that women are not inferior. When Gu Xu asked about her professional qualifications, Lin Shuang said she came here to learn all that. Gu Xu frankly stated that without the experience in the workplace over the years, it would be difficult for her to handle the position. However, they didn't exchange a word along the way and went to a restaurant instead. Jiang Xi asked if it was appropriate, and Wei Ming expressed regret. Although he knew he had let everyone down, he still didn't want to let go. On that day, he presented Jiang Xi with a bouquet of flowers and celebrated her birthday in a true sense. Jiang Xi was captivated by Wei Ming's sweet words, and when she saw a call from Lin Shuang, she immediately hung up. Jiang Xi's heart became more and more conflicted, unsure of what she should do.
