Episode 8 recap: Pei Xun appointed Yu Minghe as an official.

Liu Yueqing's father asked her why she had attended the Spring Hunting Festival, and why Pei Xun had gotten injured while saving her. Liu Yueqing didn't answer at all, instead ate a large bowl of rice, saying that she didn't have an appetite for lunch and went back home immediately. Liu Yueqing's father was very frustrated, but her mother told him not to ask too many questions since Liu Yueqing had finally returned.

The Emperor asked Pei Xun how the Spring Hunting Festival had gone, and Pei Xun replied that it had been successfully held. Although there were bad people who wanted to harm the envoy, he had already captured them and would interrogate them to find out the mastermind behind it. The Emperor was angry upon hearing that someone dared to harm the envoy and ordered Pei Xun to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Pei Hao was also very worried and asked Pei Xun where he had kept the captured individuals, offering to handle the interrogation himself, believing that he could extract information about the mastermind. However, Pei Xun ignored him. Upon his return, Pei Hao was extremely angry.

Pei Xun thought of Yu Minghe and mentioned that he already had a candidate for the position in the Ministry of Finance. Liu Yueqing felt frustrated upon learning about this. Yu Minghe had previously expressed his desire to open a bookstore, but now that he had gained the favor of the Crown Prince, his priorities had apparently changed. Yu Minghe asked Liu Yueqing if she was willing to wait for him for two years. He mentioned that tomorrow was the Lantern Festival and invited Liu Yueqing to go and see the lanterns together.
