Episode 36 recap: Qi Wu Ji's resentment dissipates.
Because Qi Wu Shuang was disabled and his mother died, his father grew tired of him. He ordered the servants to secretly abandon Qi Wu Shuang in the wilderness. Hu Zi, watching from the side, feels that Qi Lao Ye is too heartless. How could he treat his own flesh and blood like this, especially when the boy is only ten years old?
Qi Xiao Xuan also feels a pang of sympathy. This young boy has suffered so much at such a tender age, and yet he is still loyal to his family. At that moment, a pack of wolves arrives, and Qi Wu Ji takes the opportunity to kill them. Qi Wu Shuang, who has never been outside before, wants to see the world beyond.
Qi Xiao Xuan and Hu Zi think that Qi Wu Ji is treating Qi Wu Shuang well, but they don't understand why he has become so ruthless and cruel. Qi Lao Ye, upon seeing Qi Wu Ji bring Qi Wu Shuang back home, becomes angry and drives both brothers away. In Qi Lao Ye's heart, he has always believed that his younger son is a harbinger of disaster and will bring trouble to the family. However, this view doesn't diminish Qi Wu Ji's affection for Qi Wu Shuang, and their brotherly bond remains strong.
When Qi Wu Shuang goes out, he suddenly sees Ye Konghou and falls in love at first sight. However, due to his disability, he feels inferior and doesn't dare to express his feelings. Qi Wu Ji wants to go to the Immortal Island to seek medicine for Qi Wu Shuang. Coincidentally, they meet Wang Qianyu, who desires Qi Wu Ji to convey the people's wishes and ask for medicine.
In this way, they quietly arrive at the Immortal Valley. When Qi Wu Shuang sees Ye Konghou crying, he consoles her and encourages her to express her feelings for the person she admires. He insists that she must speak up. Following his advice, Qi Wu Shuang confesses her feelings to Ye Konghou. However, Ye Konghou is repulsed by Qi Wu Shuang and bluntly tells him that she only took care of him to get close to Qi Wu Ji. Qi Wu Shuang is deeply hurt by her words.
Qi Wu Ji advises his brother not to be too heartbroken, assuring him that they will soon find a deity and obtain medicine to heal his legs. Qi Wu Ji, in front of the Great Mountain God, pleads for the god's power to treat his brother's legs and save all the people in the world. However, the Great Mountain God can only grant one wish for Qi Wu Ji. When Qi Wu Shuang hears his brother's decision to sacrifice himself and save the world, he is instantly heartbroken. He feels that everyone has abandoned him, and the only thing he wanted was for his brother not to abandon him. But now, even his brother has abandoned him. This fuels his inner demons, and he seizes the opportunity to kill the Great Mountain God. Qi Wu Ji is stunned by his brother's extreme and ruthless behavior.
Qi Wu Shuang deeply resents his brother, Qi Wu Ji, for saving him in the past and mercilessly killing him to become Qi Wu Ji himself. Qi Wu Shuang feels that people hypocritically accuse him of evil deeds without knowing the weight of the sins imposed upon him by others.
Hu Zi is very excited when he sees Qi Wu Shuang and tries to persuade him. Qi Xiao Xuan also finds Qi Wu Shuang unreasonable and selfish, so Hu Zi guides Qi Wu Shuang to return to the past and relive previous experiences.
When Qi Wu Shuang hears Qi Wu Ji say that he will choose to save the world but will always be with Qi Wu Shuang, his resentment instantly disappears. Hu Zi decides to stay there, and Xiao Yun Zi gives Hu Zi Wang Yu Qian's belongings. Cheng Ji Nian feels guilty for his past mistreatment of nature, but Hu Zi doesn't hold it against him. Fei Hong Yan is reluctant to part with Hu Zi, and Qi Xiao Xuan is saddened by the thought that they may not meet again in a long time.
Hu Zi doesn't want to say anything overly sentimental but advises Qi Xiao Xuan not to be expressionless anymore. The demon masters are practicing hard, and Qi Yan Ran accompanies Mrs. Qi (Old lady) at her grave. Wu Li Dan also lets go of his resentment, and Qi Xiao Xuan is delighted to see Xiao Yun Zi return, but he still misses Yan.
Qi Xiao Xuan finds the witch and wants to know what is in his heart. When he hears that the Peak Valley is recruiting people, Qi Xiao Xuan smiles inwardly. Hu Zi sees the trees he planted and reminisces about the time they spent together. The whole drama comes to an end.
At first, I thought it was pretty good. A team of four fighting demons and evil spirits, and I thought it would be a combination of intelligence, strength, and humor. But as it progressed, it felt more and more lackluster, with weak character development.
I watched it because of Jiang Long. In the early stages, Hu Zi had a strong presence in the village, and there were fights with the demon tail and the stubborn golden figure. I thought there would be plenty of action scenes later on.
But I didn't expect that Hu Zi's biggest role would be to bring sadness to others. When everyone in the city was busy fighting monsters, he cried for Xiaoxuan, then cried for his mother, cried for Xintong when his mother came back and then disappeared again, and finally cried for Xintong and cried over a brick.
Only in the very end did he have a few minutes of a strong presence.
Jiang Long's acting skills are good, but it's a pity that the script falls short.
The two midwives' predictions were correct. The second-born child indeed became a disaster, killing the Mountain God and his brother, obtaining the woman his brother loved, and having his own descendants.
He became his brother but turned into a criminal in the world! No wonder the Tiger God, upon seeing his beloved, found that although her appearance was the same, she had changed greatly as a person. Perhaps only his brother's nature could accomplish the feat of making even a tiger fall in love with a human, while his younger brother might not be able to do the same.
This Yimei character is really intriguing from the beginning. At first, I thought Qi Wu Ji was her master, and she wanted him to be resurrected because she had feelings for him. But as the story progressed, it became a bit confusing. All her efforts over the past five hundred years were for a lifeless body, and she wiped her hands clean before touching her master.
It really shows how deeply she empathizes.
This drama is really good, to be honest. There's not too much spotlight on the main characters, and the plot is full of challenges along the way. It's a bit regrettable that each of the four teams had to face their own struggles and only two members are left.
I wonder if there will be a second season. Both male leads are amazing, and Zhang Ling He is so handsome, haha.
Just saw a comment in the bullet screen during the scene where Hu Zi and Xiaoxuan were fighting, saying, "In the end, they all have to rely on mutations to solve it. Oh my god, I've watched so many episodes, and I want to criticize that the two male leads don't have any protagonist halo.
Along the way, they have relied mostly on their own abilities to solve problems. There have been many difficulties, and they have overcome them one by one. There was no sudden appearance of a halo.
I feel so sorry for them. Even towards the end, they are still relying on their own strengths to fight against everyone. We're nearing the big finale, and Qi Wu Shuang is so powerful because he stole divine power and became like this.
There was no halo in the beginning, so shouldn't there be some divine power support in the major battles later on?
