I just finished watching the first three episodes, and it's really good. The pacing is fast, the special effects are excellent, and the action scenes are exciting. It's great that there are no slow-motion fight scenes; it's much more enjoyable to watch. The story has a reasonable progression and leaves you wanting to continue watching. Qi Xiao Xuan seems to have a backstory that will be revealed later. As for Xiao Xuan, although he appears cold, he is honest, kind, and not blindly impulsive. He would make a great husband for me.

I feel like the plot unfolds in the fourth episode. It's okay for Hu Zi to be a bit unlikable in the early stages of character development, but Qi Xiao Xuan is really cute and pitiful. She's constantly mocked by her older sister and constrained by the expectations of their family, having to maintain strict self-discipline and treat others kindly every day. It's so suffocating. I hope that after the handsome guy appears, he can freely be himself and do as he pleases.

I've heard of Jiang Long before, and his acting this time is indeed impressive. Qi Xiao Xuan, played by Niuniu, is aloof and cold, but you can tell that he's a young and inexperienced youngster. There's a certain innocence in his naivety, which fits the character well.

I watched two episodes, and I really can't stand the stupidity. First of all, Jiang Long's character Hu Zi is held hostage, and the male lead played by 0 Di doesn't even bother to open the box to see if Hu Zi is inside and just lets him go. Then they go to the village, and I thought the male lead would be powerful, but it turns out... he's just like this. And to top it off, he's actually a leader... If he were a young prince or someone inexperienced, it would be understandable, but he already holds a position of authority and yet lacks experience. I don't understand. He's even uglier than Yun Zhiyu, at least Yun Zhiyu didn't treat me like a fool with his pretentiousness. The male lead just keeps a straight face, and the second male lead keeps babbling. This kind of drama is no longer popular... It's really terrible!

The power of the gods and demons in the fantasy drama is in shambles. On one hand, they're flying on swords, and on the other hand, they're riding horses aimlessly, only to be easily tied up with a rope. The story's logic is chaotic, treasures can be found casually and discarded just as easily. What's even scarier is that you can't even tell how terrifying the monsters are. Nowadays, in a year, fewer people die in domestic fantasy dramas than in a single film by director Qiu Litao.

It's a decent way to pass the time without investing too much emotion. The characters in this drama seem a bit foolish, especially the male lead who appears to have some serious issues with his intellect... Stealing the Red Pearl caused harm to the entire village, yet he acts all aggrieved when they chase him away? The female lead is even more bizarre, sympathizing with him and claiming that he saved the whole village. Seriously, did the villagers need saving from someone who didn't steal from them? Their moral compass is off. To be honest, I think the plot involving Lianhua Tower is okay. If executed well, some cross-overs could work. I just hope this drama doesn't become more disappointing as it progresses.

The male lead stole the pearl and caused deaths in the village, but Zhao still seems to feel sorry for him. The male lead swallowed the pearl, knowing that Qi urgently needed it, yet he shamelessly carried that expression on his face. Qi couldn't see his anger and desperation, and he even forced the male lead to participate in the arena fight just to boost his strength, regardless of the world being on the brink of destruction? ... Hezi didn't carry the bead that concerns the world with him when he left. It was lost, and he searched for it slowly. Couldn't the female lead wait for a month? She had to come and repair the gun at this moment, seizing the opportunity to repair the bead. Hezi didn't prioritize and alleviate the situation, forgetting loyalty for beauty, immediately wanting to give the opportunity to the female lead. I watched for a while, but all I saw was anger. Maybe I've already passed the age of watching these hot-blooded, second-rate group anime adaptations. Jiang Long's acting is good though. Let's meet again in another production.

Both male leads are ugly and bad in their own ways, neither of them is likable. But ultimately, the blame falls on the screenwriter. Even if you let elementary school students write the script, it wouldn't have so many loopholes. The fight scenes in Episode 03 were decent, but then Hu Zi suddenly becomes a master, and the screenwriter makes another foolish mistake. The only beautiful woman in the entire series is Hei Feng in Episode 04. He Lan Dou's portrayal in Episode 09 doesn't resemble a fairy or a villain, but rather a blind widow. The public breakup of Hu He in Episode 14 and Zhang Ling He's transformation into a villain made the plot slightly more interesting. This is the worst script I've seen this year, and all the characters resemble elementary school students.

I watched two episodes, and every person who has appeared so far is unbelievably stupid... In the beginning, a few important characters were having a meeting when the guard reported that the Red Pearl had cracked. Their first reaction was to question whether the guard was lying or seeing things, and they argued for two minutes... Only then did they say they should personally go and take a look. And then they sent the supposedly amazing male lead to find a once-in-a-century treasure, and he found it in an instant. A group of guards, who were supposed to be highly skilled, were suddenly knocked unconscious by a random villager from a remote mountain village, and the male lead was captured. In the blink of an eye, the treasure was stolen again... I mean, what's the use of this supposedly amazing male lead who appeared?

The story follows a typical male-oriented narrative of a passionate young man who fights monsters and levels up. The male lead, Jiang Long, performs well and stays in character. Zhang Ling He's makeup looks much more natural in this drama. Although the story follows a familiar formula, it's still enjoyable to watch, especially with a touch of mystery and detective work. Looking forward to seeing what kind of scheme the antagonist, He Lan Dou, is playing.

For Jiang Long, I've watched 8 episodes so far, but when I checked the synopsis, it said there are a total of 36 episodes. I might not be able to stick with it until the end. The plot is weak and filled with too many absurdities. The protagonist's character design is not good, and Hu Zi loves to cause trouble without thinking clearly.
The other male lead has a prestigious title but is too weak, unable to defeat anyone. I feel like he can't even beat his own sister. He should just pass on the inheritance to his sister already.
The dialogue for the female lead is not great, but I appreciate the phrase "to be filial and charming." It looks really good. I have so many criticisms about the character Yi Mei. Why didn't they cast an older actress for that role? The actress has a baby face, a crooked neck, no expressions, and can't even open her mouth properly. She doesn't look like an "immortal" who has lived for hundreds of years at all!
It's not until they reach the capital city that the character Chen You Wei appears, and finally, things get a bit interesting. Chen You Wei has the coolest appearance, and his character is likable. Long, you should take on this role instead. I will continue watching, but I can't guarantee how many more episodes I can endure.

Actually, in the end, Hu Zi is still guarding the plank and Xin Tong's tree in the Peak Valley. Who knows, maybe one day the plank and Xin Tong will transform into human form like Elder and One-Eye... It's a pity that the chances of having a second season with significant popularity are low, but I genuinely think it's very enjoyable to watch.

The flaws of this drama are actually quite numerous. The plotline jumps around without strict logic, the protagonist sometimes acts foolishly, and the supporting characters occasionally behave erratically. Climaxes arise suddenly, and values are inexplicably elevated. The screenwriter seems to be rushing to fill in the predetermined framework with content, disregarding the organic development of the story. Whenever I find it slightly more enjoyable, various issues arise that lower my expectations. Just when I'm about to give up, certain scenes reignite my anticipation. However, I managed to persist and watch it until the end.
Upon careful reflection, I think it's because I genuinely liked the ensemble characterization. Each character is vivid and full of life. In the drama, they are not mere rigid symbols of good or evil but countless ordinary individuals with both flaws and strengths. They express their hatred candidly and love passionately. This vitality even compensates to some extent for the shortcomings in their character motivations, attributing everything to free choice. After all, in certain moments, rational analysis holds no meaning.
Lastly, the actors' performances imbue the ensemble with nearly fifty percent of its vitality, making everything appear more natural and plausible, especially Jiang Long. Without him, it would be difficult for viewers to develop an affinity for the character Hu Zi.

How distorted must the male lead's values be for him to blame the person who got their pearls stolen for not safeguarding them properly after he caused a big trouble by stealing them! Has the writer's brain not fully developed? That Yi Mei Fairy's acting is so awful, her words and actions are so affected, clearly indicating to the audience, "I'm not a good person, watch out, I'm about to start plotting something evil! " The significance of obtaining the Chi Pearl that can save the world and repairing a broken gun shouldn't require any weighing. Once had high expectations but felt slightly disappointed after watching. Jiang Long's delivery of lines is decent, but there's too much unnecessary dialogue, and the character portrayal is unlikable, making the performance feel a bit excessive. His best performance was in the scene where Cang Lan makes the mortal descent.

It's great! Various couples mixed together, compact plot, and everyone is pursuing their careers. The character designs for each role are also very well done. The only downside is that Hu Zi is so ugly, really ugly, and it truly affects the viewing experience. Otherwise, I would have shipped every couple. I hate the casting choice for this. If only the male lead were a bit more handsome, this show would have been so much more than it is.

A drama plagued with bugs. It started with dual male leads, then shifted to a dominant male lead, followed by a dominant female lead, and then the dual male lead camerawork. Finally, the female lead was killed off, and the story returned to the dual male leads, with various ensemble cast members intertwined throughout. The main concept was supposed to be about wanting everything but not properly pursuing any one thing.
I'm tired of criticizing the character design of the male lead. It wasn't interesting even until the end. In fact, the character designs of the main team aren't impressive. Zhao Xin Tong is slightly better, but Wang Yu Wen's performance wasn't good. Qi Xiao Xuan's character design wasn't great either, but the twin soul concept added some points. Aside from the main team, I actually think the supporting characters have better character designs and storylines, which are more intriguing.
The same goes for the romantic relationships. The chemistry between the male and female leads was simply awkward and forced. As I progressed, I couldn't bear it anymore and dropped all expectations. However, I found the romantic relationships between the supporting characters, excluding the main couple, quite enjoyable.

The smoke only affected the followers, and the Red Bead was placed in her bag. She could smell that it wasn't a monster but couldn't smell that it wasn't a human. Jiang Long's actions are even more incomprehensible. Stealing something valuable just to use it as a toy for a child? WTF! The logic in the first episode was already questionable. The actors' character setups have substantial conflicts, and many of the lines are intentionally written in a foolish and ridiculous manner. I don't know how these actors managed to utter them without feeling disgusted. However, their acting skills are commendable. It's truly not easy to turn such a terrible script into a decent performance. The best part is the scene where the one-eyed character interacts with the owner's corpse. The excessive buildup in the earlier parts, especially the time spent in the peak valley preparation, wasted a significant amount of content. As the story progresses, it becomes a desperate scramble of deaths. The overall script poorly arranges the compactness of the plot, with an imbalance in its structure.

The female lead and her wooden accent are unbearable to listen to. Either work on the lines or use dubbing, thank you. Even if the story lacked logical consistency, he could have portrayed his character in a less annoying and greasy manner. But the result was just dirty and ugly. I'm truly astonished. I managed to endure until the third episode but then promptly dropped it. There was absolutely no sense of pacing or urgency. It was clear from the start that it was a prelude to self-destruction. The impression this drama left on me is that Hu Zi, constantly worried about killing someone and constantly swayed by his thoughts, and the four old elders who are used to fill the plot, are the main characters. I even feel like everyone around Hu Zi has anxiety, comforting this useless male protagonist every day when Hu Zi questions himself. The plot is lacking, and the main characters' group constantly portrays sincere friendship, but unfortunately, there is no good story to showcase, so I really can't grasp it, whether it's the core characters Hu Zi and Xiao Xuan or when they form a group. When I see the female lead being all lovey-dovey with Hu Zi, it reminds me of the little butterfly and that cockroach spirit in "When We First Met." Wang Yu Wen's looks score two out of ten. Are contemporary artists really lacking in culture like this? When a drama utters a grammatically incorrect phrase like "the urgent task at hand," it demonstrates the lack of rigor among the people in that production team. Actors are earning so much money, yet they haven't even mastered basic knowledge. It's only because of the money in the entertainment industry that makes it so lucrative.
I just finished watching the first three episodes, and it's really good. The pacing is fast, the special effects are excellent, and the action scenes are exciting. It's great that there are no slow-motion fight scenes; it's much more enjoyable to watch.

From beginning to end, it was evident that this was a low-budget online drama. The plot was dumbed down, and the precious pearl, which was so important, was carelessly lost multiple times.
The main characters seemed like they were playing house. He Zi, do you still have a chance to become a top star? I'll still root for you. I'll pretend this drama was never aired, but next time, please choose better projects.
I can't believe there are so many negative reviews, but the acting is superb, the plot is engaging, and there are plenty of funny moments that I can totally get.
It doesn't feel awkward or overly edited for beauty. Recently, it's been rare for me to find a drama that I can really get into, so I highly recommend it.
Oh, and let me mention that I didn't have much of an impression of Jiang Long before, but their acting in this drama is surprisingly good. Keep up the great work and keep acting!
Am I the only one who thinks it's amazing? I cried in every episode of the last six episodes... I love the foursome so much.
It's unbelievably terrible!
It's not like it's a one-time opportunity where you can only choose one.
What difference does it make if they repair the gun next time? How can such a thing even be aired?
Three and a half stars. I've watched up to 16 episodes, which is not a small number. The core development of the second male lead's character was introduced too late, and the plot progresses too slowly.
There is not enough action, and the character designs are relatively conventional. Additionally, the male lead is unattractive in appearance. However, the production quality is actually quite impressive, with well-executed fight scenes and special effects.
It's a real pity.
Once had high expectations but felt slightly disappointed after watching. Jiang Long's delivery of lines is decent, but there's too much unnecessary dialogue, and the character portrayal is unlikable, making the performance feel a bit excessive.
Zhang Ling He appears extremely pale and lacking energy compared to Jiang Long, as if he has no idea how to express his character.
Seriously? If the Red Bead is so important, why would they entrust it to an inexperienced and clueless person? Wouldn't it be better to assign a large number of capable individuals to ensure its safety?
In Zhang Ling He's case, knowing that it was likely a trap, why would she approach it herself? The smoke only affected the followers, and the Red Bead was placed in her bag. She could smell that it wasn't a monster but couldn't smell that it wasn't a human.
Jiang Long's actions are even more incomprehensible. Stealing something valuable just to use it as a toy for a child? WTF! The logic in the first episode was already questionable. In the second episode, the female lead claims that Hu Zi saved the villagers.
What kind of nonsense is that? The screenwriter should be fired.
Grumbling and complaining, I finished watching it. I initially watched it for Jiang Long, but it turns out that the entire cast combined couldn't even muster half a brain. The good guys are dumb, and the bad guys are dumb too. Who the hell wrote the script?
It's truly infuriating. The dialogue is ridiculously watered down. The female lead and her wooden accent are unbearable to listen to. Either work on the lines or use dubbing, thank you. It forcefully tries to be emotional and melancholic, while also pretending to be mysterious.
If they try to deceive the audience again with such a lousy plot and editing, I'll definitely toss it aside without a second thought.
It's fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! The storyline is unique and progresses quickly, with plenty of plot twists later on. Zhang Ling He's beauty is overwhelming me! Qi Xiao Xuan is so handsome, both Qian and Yan are great characters.
Yan's crying scene really got to me; they're all so handsome! Zhang Ling He is such a talented actor; you can immediately tell it's not the same person, the contrast is striking.
I even shed tears when Yimiao died. He Lan Dou's performance was impressive, definitely one of the highlights of the whole drama. Please make a second season, guarding the Peak Valley and bringing my demon-hunting team back to life.
Thank you!
The genre seemed interesting, and the poster had its own unique style. I thought at least a team-based story like this would be watchable. However, as soon as Jiang Long, that dreadful actor, appeared, the plot became unbearable.
Even if the story lacked logical consistency, he could have portrayed his character in a less annoying and greasy manner. But the result was just dirty and ugly. I'm truly astonished. What's even more terrifying is the director and the screenwriter.
How did they manage to produce such a sloppy plot? Don't they have any conscience? Do they think of the audience as monkeys to play with? Can't they just get lost?
It's quite nice to watch, but the logic of the plot in the early stages isn't very good. Hu Zi is a male lead with a growth arc, but his initial character setup isn't great. Qi Xiao Xuan's cold exterior and warm heart, his stubbornness and softness, I really love that.
I also quite like the concept of the dual souls in one body. And I think Hu Zi and Qi Xiao Xuan have great chemistry. I wrote a long paragraph about their relationship, but I didn't realize there was a word limit.
I'll include it in my drama review later, can't let all those words go to waste. ???
This is an explosive and passionate ensemble drama with a tight and compelling plot. Each character gradually grows from their imperfect selves, and the storylines are tightly interconnected.
The entire cast delivers outstanding performances, with the main characters showing consistent acting skills and the supporting roles shining brightly.
In particular, Jiang Long's performance is truly exceptional.
I hope that talented young actors with excellent acting skills can truly be discovered and given opportunities in the industry!
The two aspects are quite good. The fight scenes are clean and neat, and the special effects are well-integrated. Also, He Lan Dou's image has always been stuck in my mind as a silly and sweet character, but this time it's a complete transformation.
The portrayal of a cold-blooded and ruthless strategist with deep calculations by the actor is very successful and has left a deep impression on me. Overall, it's a decent drama.
I managed to endure until the third episode but then promptly dropped it. There was absolutely no sense of pacing or urgency. It was clear from the start that it was a prelude to self-destruction. Taking risks for one's own sake can be seen as a matter of temperament, but risking the lives of others, what kind of generosity is that?
After causing their own demise, who would still care about the subsequent plot?
The impression this drama left on me is that Hu Zi, constantly worried about killing someone and constantly swayed by his thoughts, and the four old elders who are used to fill the plot, are the main characters.
I even feel like everyone around Hu Zi has anxiety, comforting this useless male protagonist every day when Hu Zi questions himself. The plot is lacking, and the main characters' group constantly portrays sincere friendship, but unfortunately, there is no good story to showcase, so I really can't grasp it, whether it's the core characters Hu Zi and Xiao Xuan or when they form a group.
However, there is one aspect of this drama that I find quite innovative, which is the concept of twin spirit guardians. It turns out there is a type of couple called "Me and My Spirit Guardian." At least the childhood story of the twin spirit guardians is quite touching.
In the first two episodes, the male lead stole the pearl and caused a disaster in the village, yet he acted like a victim and blamed others. The female lead even thought he was not at fault.
It's unbelievable. What's even more frustrating is that he can't distinguish between priorities. Despite being in a romantic relationship, he insists on giving the magic weapon to the female lead, refusing to take the pearl, and even suggests opening someone's belly if necessary.
I can't stand it.
It seems like many people only watched the first two episodes based on the comments. However, the show actually improves a lot from the fifth or sixth episode onwards. Although the characters, both good and bad, are quite stereotypical, I initially found Jiang Long unattractive with a poorly developed character, and Qi Xiao Xuan's acting lacked highlights.
But as I continued watching, I realized the strong bond between the characters, the feeling of friendship that surpasses everything. There are fewer melodramatic misunderstandings, and they communicate clearly when something happens.
It may not be a masterpiece, but as a lighthearted family TV show to pass the time, it's enjoyable. Zhang Ling He looks quite handsome as the story progresses. I wish they all had original dialogue; it does make a difference compared to dubbing.
Let's hope everyone continues to work hard.
I dropped it after six episodes. That girl disguised as a boy couldn't even respect the concept of cross-dressing. And those other two characters calling her "brother," I just felt they were clueless.
Moreover, when that girl clearly wasn't at fault and saved the villagers, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. If Hu Zi didn't steal that pearl, would there have been all the subsequent killings?
It's fundamentally his fault, yet he's there saying it's not his fault. It's ridiculous... Zhang gives off the impression of relying solely on family connections for generations to hold office, and Jiang's poorly written goody-two-shoes character is also frustrating.
And when He Yi appeared, sticking her neck out like that, does she really think she looks good...? I haven't read the original work, but is it as absurd as this in the original?
I watched it for Jiang Long, that Jiang Long who was once an honored "Three Good Students," that Jiang Long from "Chasing Dreams in the Entertainment Circle," and that Jiang Long who made me laugh to the point of tears in the "Annual Comedy Competition"...
It's such a pity that he didn't come across a good script. The writing is loose, and the pacing is slow. Jiang Long's acting is good, but the character is unlikeable. I'm really disappointed, and I'm inclined to give it three and a half stars.
I've reached the 8th episode and I'm hesitating whether to drop the drama or not.
Both male leads are idiots, one being straightforwardly foolish, and the other lacking manners. Will the female lead die if she doesn't date someone?
It seems she's not an imbecile, so why can't she settle for someone more suitable? When I see the female lead being all lovey-dovey with Hu Zi, it reminds me of the little butterfly and that cockroach spirit in "When We First Met." I really can't understand if it's the female lead actress who offended the screenwriter and director or if it's the actor playing Hu Zi who saved them.
Ah, the adorable Wang Gonggong's resources were too heartbreaking. How did he end up playing Cheng Ji Nian? It was okay, but the romantic scenes between Hu Zi and the female lead were really unnecessary and felt awkward...
The pacing was fast, and the special effects were good. However, the plot itself didn't have anything particularly memorable, including the process of building camaraderie among the companions.
And how did they come up with those names for the people in the Giant Wheel Nation? It's hilarious!
Perhaps after lurking in the darkness for too long, I was moved for the first time by this kind of hot-blooded genre. The lead actor's acting skills passed muster, but the plot had quite a few bugs, especially when the antagonists were about to annihilate the entire continent, while the protagonist's group was still dawdling and discussing their ideals.
It made me anxious just watching it! Anyway, it's suitable to be watched as background noise.
At the beginning, it was still okay, with a team of 3-4 people fighting monsters. Although everyone was initially weak (and silly), it didn't matter because the protagonist's group would fight together and grow together, gradually establishing deep bonds of friendship.
Isn't that what a passionate anime should depict? But my goodness, once they reached the capital city, it turned into constant fighting and conflict. It became incredibly boring.
I didn't expect to watch it mainly for Hu Zi's character, and it's quite funny. It proves that acting skills can outweigh looks. The makeup and special effects also show a sense of quality and dedication.
But ever since the Elder Council appeared, I've been speechless. What are they trying to achieve with such dumb villains and plot? I gave up at episode 22, I just couldn't endure until the grand finale at episode 36.
Although it's not as delicately woven and tightly connected as "Lianhua Tower," the actors' performances are decent. The dialogue is particularly natural and funny. The last few episodes were so heartbreaking. Mu Dan, Elder, Yi Mei, Grandma, Ban Zhuang, and Xin Tong, they all died.
The biggest flaw is that the ancestral grudge between Wu Li Dan and Zhao Xin Tong was never explained and mysteriously disappeared.
It's a scam drama. Jiang Long's appearance is messy and his character design in the early episodes is really poor. He acts all holy and hypocritical, and the ensemble is a mishmash, with the four characters revolving around the male lead without any conditions.
0d should really play a decorative role in the later part of the drama because his acting feels unnatural and a bit forced, although he looks handsome at first glance.
Too much unnecessary talk. The following six episodes were okay. Is it a trend now for dramas to have the most exciting moments in the last six episodes and cram all the good parts towards the end?
------- Update -------
It's getting worse and worse. Yan and Qian have very little screen time, but the main female storyline is okay, although sometimes the power system feels inconsistent!
------- Update Line -------
I've watched six episodes, and it's not bad. The pacing is fast.
One of the strengths of this drama is the well-developed characterization of every character, not just the main protagonist. Even the supporting roles, no matter how small, have their growth arcs and their moments to shine.
The story of this drama actually reminded me of a segment in "Soul Ferry" that tells the story of a mountain god.
It's quite similar.
Although it's a bit awkward, this statement is much more reasonable when it comes to the growth and development of the antagonists compared to the righteous characters. The righteous characters in this drama are truly born wicked, while the antagonists are indeed influenced by their environment.
That's how it can be summarized. The story of this drama is actually quite interesting, especially when it comes to the ensemble cast and the excellent character development.
However, the plot lacks a satisfying sense of excitement...
Wang Yu Wen's looks score two out of ten.
