Episode 12 recap: Fierce Fight between the Two Parties.
Hu Bin saw Guan Xue angrily leaving the house and glanced at the terrified Guan Xue upstairs, feeling somewhat curious. After Guan Xue left, Hu Bin knocked on the door. At first, Guan Kai didn't open the door, so Hu Bin deliberately startled him by saying that he found something in the café, which should belong to Guan Kai. Frightened, Guan Kai quickly opened the door and threatened him with a gun, demanding that he hand over the item.
Hu Bin rolled his eyes and said he would help him, and he took away Guan Kai's gun because he liked Guan Xue, and Guan Kai would eventually become his brother-in-law. Hu Bin went to the forensic department and fabricated a report stating that the gun had never been fired, hoping Guan Xue would believe Guan Kai.
Guan Xue asked him about the conditions, and Hu Bin asked her to accompany him to watch a movie, but Guan Xue genuinely had no time recently. When she returned home, Guan Xue questioned Guan Kai again. A Japanese soldier was killed in the café, and Guan Kai and his classmates were all on the suspect list, but only Guan Kai had a gun.
Guan Kai repeatedly denied that he was responsible, and in fact, he could only bury the fact of the murder in his heart. Song Zhuo Wen returned to the office to look for something and was called by Pan Yue to work overtime, so Song Zhuo Wen had no choice but to stay. Pan Yue discovered that Ding Peng was involved in opium trafficking and set a trap for Song Zhuo Wen.
Song Zhuo Wu wanted to leave Harbin and asked Qian Chong Li to keep an eye on a child named Quan Zi. Guan Xue went out to deliver materials to Captain Asano, and Song Zhuo Wen immediately entered her office and found remnants of a secret telegram. Now, all they needed to do was find the codebook to decipher the intelligence.
The final message is: "Mardel Hotel, Table number one on the right-hand side after entering, gray towel, 1:00 PM on the 12th."
Today was also the day arranged by Qian Chong Li for the meeting, and the location was Mardel Hotel. Guan Xue arrived outside the Mardel Hotel, preparing to go in shortly. The contact person realized that they had dropped a scarf on one of the seats and quickly went out to find it. Song Zhuo Wen paused outside and saw four people, including Guan Xue and Qian Chong Li, wearing gray scarves entering the hotel. Song Zhuo Wen became very worried; this was a big problem.
In order to prevent the risk of exposure, Song Zhuo Wen drove into the hotel and took away the contact person. However, in the car, one of them turned out to be a resistance member, and the other was a spy. Guan Xue also pretended to approach another undercover agent, but she actually took him to a safehouse. Song Zhuo Wen asked Qian Chong Li for the contact code, realizing that he had to act accordingly at this point.
Qian Chong Li and the others tied up the spy and searched for clues on him. Guan Xue hadn't returned yet, which was strange to Song Zhuo Wen. It was not right to capture someone and not bring them back. Guan Xue removed the bullets from the undercover agent and rescued him, but the agent asked her to reveal the code. Guan Xue cried and said that the comrade who knew the code had already sacrificed.
Since Guan Xue didn't bring the person back, Song Zhuo Wen had to probe one after another. Soon, he found out the address. Guan Xue was eager for him to reveal the meeting point, but Song Zhuo Wen had already asked for help and loudly shouted the code. The undercover agent realized what was happening and did not continue speaking.
