Episode 9 recap: Song Zhuo Wen apologized to Hu Bin.
In the late night, Song Zhuo Wu attempted to assassinate Guan Xue but only ended up shooting the streetlamp and people around him. Afterward, Song Zhuo Wu managed to escape safely. Song Zhuo Wen questioned Guan Kai about what he had done. His intention was to protect Guan Kai and Guan Xue. Guan Kai insisted that he had to swear not to tell Guan Xue, otherwise, they would all be finished.
Song Zhuo Wen was furious when he found out about Song Zhuo Wu's attempt to assassinate Guan Xue. His actions were simply insane. However, Song Zhuo Wu remained defiant, questioning what was wrong with killing a spy. Guan Xue narrowly escaped death and took refuge at the home of an elder relative. She quickly made a phone call to her family, but Guan Kai seemed to be absent from home.
Guan Xue had a hunch that the person trying to kill her was a Manchurian Robin Hood. There were no traces left at the scene, and Guan Xue believed that this person deliberately spared her life and must have ulterior motives. Song Zhuo Wu recalled the days of war and the harsh winter. He crawled out from the pile of dead bodies left by the Japanese. Guan Xue and Guan Kai held onto his hind legs tightly. Guan Xue was crying and frightened at the time. Guan Xue didn't say much in response. Three days later, Chief Asano held a dance party, and Guan Xue asked them all to attend. Guan Kai encountered the matter with Song Zhuo Wen, and Mr. Ning was very concerned. He asked for Song Zhuo Wen's name, but Guan Kai didn't want to tell him.
The Intelligence Department was responsible for the security of the dance party. After the party, Song Zhuo Wen made a public apology to Hu Bin, and Hu Bin generously offered to personally escort him. Song Zhuo Wen noticed a car following them and asked Guan Xue to stop in front, but the car drove straight past them. Guan Xue knew that the car belonged to their colleagues and rivals from Nanjing.
