Episode 1 recap: Du Ru Yu goes on blind dates with her daughters, but various unexpected situations arise.

Chun Pei Lan was making rose egg pastries when she was about to experience the biggest change in her life. At the age of seven, Chun Pei Lan went to the temple with her mother, hoping that their family could live happily together. However, fate had other plans as Chun Pei Lan's father met with an unfortunate incident.

Du Ru Yu, Chun Pei Lan's 47-year-old mother, is skilled at managing the household but is anxious about her daughters' marriages. She has been worrying about marrying off her daughters because they have been unsuccessful in finding suitable partners. Her eldest daughter is 29 years old and approaching 30, which adds to Du Ru Yu's worries. Chun Pei Lan, the second daughter, is already 28 years old. Chun Jin Rong, the eldest sister, is determined to marry into a wealthy family and is waiting for Chun Pei Lan to make rose egg pastries to deceive others by claiming she made them.

Chun Pei Lan brings the pastries to her mother and eldest sister but is interrupted by the sudden appearance of her younger sister, Chun Ke Ling. Chun Ke Ling reveals that she had tampered with the ingredients, adding poisonous herbs. Panicked, Chun Pei Lan chases after her. Meanwhile, the blind date between Chun Pei Lan and a man is going well, and things seem to be progressing positively. However, at that moment, Chun Pei Lan suddenly appears, and the man who just had the rose egg pastry falls ill due to poisoning.

As a result of the poisoning, the man demands compensation from Du Ru Yu. In order to gather the required 50 taels of silver for the compensation, Du Ru Yu continues to go on blind dates with the hope of accumulating the necessary funds. Chun Ban Xia, the third sister, tirelessly supports her mother throughout this ordeal.

Feeling unlucky and believing that all the family's debts are somehow connected to her, Chun Pei Lan seeks the guidance of a fortune teller. The fortune teller tells her about her misfortune, and Li Teng Yun warns Chun Pei Lan of impending disasters, including bloodshed.

Li Teng Yun offers to help Chun Pei Lan break the curse but requires a hundred taels of silver, which she does not have. However, Li Teng Yun keeps lowering the price, but Chun Pei Lan still refuses. Du Ru Yu and her eldest daughter, Chun Jin Rong, coincidentally witness a wedding procession and Chun Jin Rong becomes envious. They join the crowd and enter the wedding venue, where they are mistaken for guests and brought inside. Chun Jin Rong sits down happily to watch the ceremony, while the host, Lin Yuan Wai, begins his congratulatory speech.

In another incident, Lu Bu Ping, the martial arts scion, finds a pair of dice on the street and decides to return them to the nearby gambling den. However, the gamblers assume Lu Bu Ping is cheating and try to force him to pay. Lu Bu Ping manages to avoid their attacks, but accidentally hits Chun Pei Lan, who was searching for her purse. Chun Pei Lan's nose starts bleeding, reminding her of the fortune teller's prediction of bloodshed and greed. While searching for her purse, Chun Pei Lan finds another purse and returns it to its presumed owner. Unfortunately, it turns out to be the purse of a young lady who lost it, and she brings Chun Pei Lan to the authorities, as she doesn't believe Chun Pei Lan's honest intentions.
