Episode 11 recap: Shi Zi pays to repair Chun Fu as proof of innocence.
Li Teng Yun rushed back to report to Shi Zi that he had set fire to Chun Fu and begged for forgiveness. However, Shi Zi refused to believe that Li Teng Yun had the audacity to start the fire. Just then, his subordinate came to report that Chun Fu was on fire. Seeing the devastated state of her home, Du Ru Yu couldn't help but cry bitterly, sitting on the ground in disappointment. Neighbors from the street rushed to help, and they carried out a person covered in soot. Ke Ling thought it was A Si and hurried to rescue him. Shi Zi arrived with Li Teng Yun and saw Chun Fu in ruins. He gritted his teeth and angrily said to Li Teng Yun, "How dare you set fire to it! If there's any loss of life, I'll make sure you pay for it."
At that moment, Si Huang Zi arrived and overheard the conversation between Shi Zi and Li Teng Yun. He quickly took them to see the authorities. Li Teng Yun adamantly denied setting the fire, while Ban Xia insisted that the authorities uphold justice. The person they carried out from the courtyard was Lu Bu Ping. He told Pei Lan, who was taking care of him, that he saw Ban Xia's medicinal furnace catch fire and destroy the courtyard. Upon hearing this, Chun Jin Rong recalled yesterday when she and her mother came to see Ban Xia, and indeed, Ban Xia was tending to the fire and making medicine. She realized that they had wrongly accused Li Teng Yun. Li Teng Yun, refusing to admit his guilt, faced severe interrogation and eventually confessed. However, he implicated Shi Zi, claiming that Shi Zi had ordered him to set the fire.
The officials were surprised that Shi Zi was involved and temporarily suspended the interrogation, stating that they needed to find evidence before making a judgment. Chun Ban Xia believed that this was a case of officials protecting each other and was determined to find evidence to expose even the corrupt official. The yamen runners came to the Chun family to search for evidence. They discovered that the fire had started in the pharmacy, and they found the torch that Li Teng Yun had discarded. Pei Lan said it didn't belong to their household. After the yamen runners left, Chun Jin Rong cautioned Pei Lan not to disclose the truth about Ban Xia causing the fire while making medicine to anyone. She explained that if they did, the Chun family wouldn't receive compensation, and they would lose everything. Pei Lan suggested discussing it with her mother, Du Ru Yu, but Jin Rong insisted that the fewer people who knew about it, the better, and that they shouldn't tell their mother. Lu Bu Ping disagreed with this approach and received a harsh slap from Chun Jin Rong.
Peilan quickly tried to stop her eldest sister, but Jin Rong angrily turned and left. Peilan comforted Lu Bu Ping, but he insisted that the fire was caused by Banxia's stove not being extinguished. However, his words were overheard by Du Ruyu, who learned the truth. Du Ruyu and her two daughters discussed the situation and decided that Banxia shouldn't be informed because she tends to overthink things. Du Ruyu instructed Lu Bu Ping to quickly clean up the scene to prevent Banxia from finding evidence when she returned.
True to expectations, Banxia returned and started searching for evidence. She was resentful about the scene being cleaned up, believing that those people were destroying evidence. Seeing Banxia relentlessly investigate the evidence, Du Ruyu and her two daughters tried to persuade her to stop, but Banxia thought they were all afraid and that she would never submit.
Banxia was preparing to write a complaint and take it to the Dali Temple. Everyone was worried that her relentless actions would eventually land her in prison. Du Ruyu instructed Lu Bu Ping to closely watch Banxia and tear up the complaint once she finished writing it. Si Huang Zi was disappointed in Shi Zi and believed that he was behind Li Teng Yun's actions. Shi Zi tried to explain, but Si Huang Zi refused to listen.
Banxia believed that someone from the Ling Prince's residence was involved because the complaint she had painstakingly written disappeared in an instant. Everyone was too scared to intervene. Chun Ke Ling came to the Ling Prince's residence in the middle of the night to set it on fire, claiming it was for revenge but was captured by Shi Zi's subordinates. Unable to explain things clearly to Si Huang Zi, Shi Zi decided to offer a large sum of money to the Chun residence. Upon learning that Chun Ke Ling had been caught, Si Huang Zi hurried to the prison and gave the silver ticket to Chun Ke Ling, who found it strange.
Banxia hid in the shadows and finally caught Lu Bu Ping stealing her complaint. She concluded that Lu Bu Ping was a spy from the Ling Prince's residence and insisted on taking him to the authorities. Lu Bu Ping decided to tell her the truth, but Peilan accidentally knocked him unconscious. Chun Ke Ling returned with the silver ticket, and everyone was discussing how to explain things to Banxia once she woke up. However, when Banxia regained consciousness, she overheard their conversation and stood still, motionless.
Lu Bu Ping discovered that Banxia was missing, and everyone hurriedly searched for her. Banxia had already gone to the yamen and confessed to setting the house on fire. Du Ruyu arrived with her family, and Banxia tearfully admitted her mistake to everyone. The interrogating officials instructed them to resolve the matter within their family. With their house gone, Du Ruyu planned to take her family back to Qingcheng. When Shi Zi learned of this, he came and offered to help them rebuild the house. Until the house was repaired, the Chun family members would temporarily stay at his residence.
This drama is completely unrealistic. It's supposed to be a comedy, but after watching it, I feel angry and miserable. Lady Chun shows extreme favoritism and treats Lu Bu Ping impolitely and harshly!
The eldest daughter is lazy, arrogant, and loves to compare herself to others. The second daughter is a pushover without any principles. The fourth daughter is impolite, uncultured, and rude. She only knows how to resort to violence without reasoning.
If it weren't for Shi Zi's affection for her, she would have died a thousand times over! I'm dropping this drama.
The amount of information at the beginning of this drama is truly immense. It's definitely a grand production that deserves careful appreciation. The filming is very realistic and natural, which is very captivating.
I enjoy watching this type of drama. Can we have more of these intriguing storylines?
Our Uncle Zhen Sheng has it tough. He traveled a long way just to have a meal and a place to sleep, all to see the beloved Ru Yu he's been yearning for. He even agreed to a 10% share, not much higher than Lu Bu Ping's worth.
Is it because being a man from the Chun family means being humble?
But this isn't really about profit sharing; it's clearly Ru Yu giving Zhen Sheng his pocket money. It's like a married couple, where the wife takes her husband's salary every month and casually hands him a hundred yuan to buy cigarettes or an ice cream.
Uncle Zhen Sheng is so pitiful. I even wonder if he has a masochistic personality by nature. He's knowledgeable in medicine, so why can't he find a decent job to support himself?
He has talent, so finding a wife shouldn't be difficult, but he insists on Ru Yu.
And he can't even explain himself clearly. He's doing a great deed, but he can't articulate it, and he ends up being misunderstood by Ru Yu.
Being a man is difficult, and being a good man is even harder. I suddenly realized that there are men like this around me, being bullied and exploited, never knowing how to stand up for themselves or realizing they're being taken advantage of.
They willingly earn money to support their families, only to be rewarded with a low-quality green hat. What's the point?
Is it that the cigarettes aren't good enough, or is it that the drink isn't satisfying?
Shouldn't people learn to cut their losses and be clear-minded? When it's time to let go, just let go.
Xiao Xiao and Big Sister, they truly are the Plastic Sisters. The way they enthusiastically greet each other upon meeting, without considering others around them, truly showcases their longing for each other.
Later, as I watched Xiao Xiao proudly show off her earrings, I realized that their friendship stems from their respect and need for an audience.
When they showcase themselves, there's someone with a face full of envy, openly displaying their admiration. It's such a joyous thing, which is why they need each other, serving as suppliers and consumers of each other's spirits.
However, this is only when their strengths are equal. Once their circumstances become unequal and differences arise, their relationship becomes unstable.
Presently, Xiao Xiao has married an older man. In her eyes, the older man spoils her enough, providing her with endless pocket money.
She can casually buy new clothes and jewelry whenever she wants.
Big Sister envies her, but even in her envy, she won't allow herself to marry an older man for material gains. That's where she differs from Xiao Xiao; she has her own persistence and bottom line.
And that's also the main reason why Big Sister can find happiness in the end. Even among similar people, there are slight differences in traits, and it is these tiny distinctions that determine the divergent paths of their lives.
It is said that there is an art to doing business, and it's true. Most people don't have the mindset to be entrepreneurs.
There is a method to making money, and it's not about taking shortcuts.
It's about focusing on the right approaches and methods.
Take our Uncle Zhensheng, for example. He has a knack for it. He's eager to earn money and demonstrate his capabilities, showing that he can support his family of five.
So he tried every possible way to make his pharmacy thrive. But opening a new store without any popularity, it's not easy to achieve success.
At first, he learned from others by distributing flyers and running promotions.
However, every flyer he handed out was a "buy one, get one free" deal. For a pharmacy, this was disastrous. Who would want to come only to be sent away with free medicine?
Later, he thought of the youngest daughter of the Chun family, who had connections in the martial arts world.
Surely she knew some people there. Those so-called martial artists would inevitably get into some scrapes from time to time. So he persuaded Keling to introduce his pharmacy to her friends.
But Keling turned out to be naïve and adorable.
When she heard that Uncle Zhensheng wanted to charge money, she immediately became unhappy and argued for it to be free. "Are you running a charity here? Why offer things for free? You don't know the value of things if you don't manage a household.
Then there's our lovely Shishi, the vegetable vendor. She's a different breed altogether. This kind of boss has an inherent charisma. "I sell what I sell, I shout for my own sake. Buy it or not, I don't care, haha." I have a friend who sells clothing, and she has the same attitude.
She never treats customers as gods, nor does she care about them. But believe it or not, her business is actually quite good.
Ru Yu's eldest daughter is thirty years old, reaching the urgent age for marriage. Unexpectedly, in ancient times, there was such a saying that if a woman couldn't get married by the age of thirty, she would have to pay a penalty fee.
Ru Yu is anxious to marry off her eldest daughter and goes to the matchmaking bridge every day, hoping to find a suitable match. The whole family moved from the town to the city because of her dreams of marrying into a wealthy family.
The eldest daughter has been longing to marry someone rich.
Shortly after moving to the city, they contacted almost every matchmaker, but still couldn't secure a good marriage for her.
It's truly terrifying that not getting married by the age of thirty is considered a major issue. Just think about our present time, how many people are in their forties and still without a result?
It's not that big of a deal.
When the right match comes, the issue will naturally be resolved. Being thirty years old and unmarried, she is anxiously searching for a match.
It shows that women in our era have a broad mindset. If someone can't get married by the age of forty, they are not in a rush either.
When in a good mood, they gather with a few close friends, and when feeling down, they engage in solitary activities like reading or traveling.
Life remains peaceful and fulfilling as always.
When searching for a partner, it's important to seek a good match and not settle for someone who is unsuitable.
Dealing with the consequences later will only bring more troubles. Reflecting on the benefits of being single at a later stage would be too late. The concept of marriage is unpredictable; it's all predetermined by fate.
Don't force it when it's not in the cards.
