Episode 17 recap: Tu Qian Zhou discovers that the chief eunuch is the mastermind.
Wan Yu and Jin Xin Xin go to find Tu Qian Zhou. They arrive at an abandoned house and discover gunpowder from hidden explosive devices. The amount of gunpowder is enough to destroy a large area of the Joyous Kingdom. Jin Xin Xin suggests quickly notifying the people to evacuate. Tu Qian Zhou and Jin Xin Xin split up, evacuating the people while reporting to the emperor.
Upon hearing that the mysterious figure took the stage blueprint and realizing that the intentions behind the fireworks were not simple, Wan Yu hurriedly takes Jin Xin Xin to find Tu Qian Zhou. Tu Qian Zhou and Shu Chen go to the inn and inquire about the detailed information of the guest from the innkeeper. The innkeeper describes the person's characteristics, mentioning a problem with their right foot and how they often leave the inn with a smell of gunpowder at midnight. Jin Xin Xin finds Tu Qian Zhou and informs him about the person taking the blueprint.
Tu Qian Zhou realizes that the person is targeting the finals but hasn't taken action yet. The person used to do business in the southern part of the city, indicating the presence of a warehouse there. Tu Qian Zhou, Jin Xin Xin, and Wan Yu go to an old mansion in the south of the city and notice a foul smell. Tu Qian Zhou quickly recognizes it as gunpowder and sees empty boxes in the courtyard, indicating that the items have been moved. Their target is Guo Zhu, and Jin Xin Xin suggests temporarily suspending the competition to inform Guo Zhu as soon as possible.
As the three of them leave the building, someone inside turns and leaves. Unfortunately, Guo Zhu happens to be sick today, so Tu Qian Zhou and Shu Chen are unable to meet him. However, when the palace official goes to report, he notices that Guo Zhu walks with a limp and bears a striking resemblance to the mysterious figure. Shu Chen and Tu Qian Zhou decide not to alert the person and take the opportunity to privately inform Guo Zhu. The palace official learns about the exposed courtyard and also discovers that Cao Xia died at the hands of Tu Qian Zhou. A group of guards takes Wan Yu away, claiming that she disguised herself as a man to infiltrate the band.
