Episode 12 recap: Zhou Yu and Gao Feng resolve their conflict and prepare for the relay race.
With Gao Feng's issue resolved, the relay race was about to begin. Gu Li and Liang You Guang got into an argument again, this time over the relay race roster. Liang You Guang wanted Zhou Yu to swim the anchor leg, while Gu Luo wanted Gao Feng to take that position. Both coaches were adamant about their choices, and the disagreement escalated in front of Hao Di.
Hao Di explained that the sports school had decided to merge the two teams for joint training sessions and would select one head coach from the two coaches. The final decision on the anchor leg would be made by the head coach. Soon, the coaches discussed and finalized the relay race roster, with Gao Feng swimming the first leg and Zhou Yu swimming the fourth leg. However, unexpectedly, both Gao Feng and Zhou Yu clearly stated that they would not participate in the relay race.
Gao Feng's reason was that he wanted to focus on his individual events, while Zhou Yu expressed a lack of team spirit and simply did not want to participate in the relay race. Neither Gao Feng nor Zhou Yu could be persuaded, and this led to another argument between Liang You Guang and Gu Luo. Hao Di intervened and stopped Liang You Guang and Gu Luo, instructing them to resolve the issue separately. They could only go and have individual conversations with Zhou Yu and Gao Feng.
Zhou Yu and Gao Feng had previously argued and decided not to train together. As a result, they both chose to withdraw from the relay race. Gu Luo and Liang You Guang attempted to persuade them, but their efforts were in vain. Hu Jing Tian and Wu Hao, seeing that Zhou Yu and Gao Feng were ignoring each other, wanted to help them reconcile and get back on good terms. They decided to organize a hotpot gathering in the dormitory, but it ended up causing a power outage, and all their belongings were confiscated.
Wu Hao explained the situation to Hao Di, and the issue regarding the dormitory's hotpot gathering was resolved. At the same time, they arranged a day off for the four residents of the dormitory to go out and have some fun to ease the tension. Wu Hao organized an outdoor combat activity, hoping that through this game, Zhou Yu and Gao Feng would cooperate again and resolve their conflicts.
Before the game started, Zhou Yu questioned Gao Feng if he was unhappy because he won the last match. Gao Feng replied that it was an accident and believed that his skills were not inferior to Zhou Yu's. He also thought Zhou Yu was too arrogant. Zhou Yu wanted to argue with Gao Feng, but Wu Hao and Hu Jing Tian urged them to enter the battlefield quickly, which stopped the argument.
Zhou Yu and Gao Feng began their battle, while Wu Hao and Hu Jing Tian were quickly taken care of, leaving only the two of them to cooperate against the enemy. Despite their initial disagreement, Gao Feng and Zhou Yu showed great coordination and teamwork during their collaboration, successfully defeating the enemies time after time. After capturing the enemies, Gao Feng and Zhou Yu discovered that their opponents were Hao Di, Liang Bing Bing, Gu Li, and Wang Ji Fei.
Gao Feng and Zhou Yu defeated Wang Ji Fei, who admitted that he lost this time because Gao Feng had Zhou Yu's help, and he wouldn't necessarily lose if it were a one-on-one fight. After the game, Hao Di explained that Wu Hao had revealed their conflicts, and she was able to organize the game with the help of Liang Bing Bing and Gu Li to make Zhou Yu and Gao Feng understand that unity was the key to victory.
Gao Feng and Zhou Yu resolved their conflicts and took the initiative to approach Gu Luo, requesting to continue participating in the relay race. However, Shen Liang was upset because they didn't withdraw, resulting in her losing the qualification to participate in the relay race. Gu Luo, thinking that Liang You Guang had done something and managed to discipline the two, was surprised when Liang You Guang stated that it had nothing to do with him.
Gu Luo and Liang You Guang announced the situation regarding the relay race roster and emphasized that the roster was subject to changes based on everyone's performance in the main competition. After arranging the roster, Hao Di received new instructions from the higher-ups and was asked to have a conversation with them. They were informed that if an athlete failed in one of their academic courses, they would not be allowed to participate in the national-level competition. This greatly worried Liang You Guang because their athletes didn't take their academic courses seriously.
Gu Luo and Liang You Guang conveyed the message from the higher-ups and urged everyone to prioritize their academic courses. They frequently found themselves arguing due to different opinions. During the academic classes, the athletes either slept or skipped class to play sports, neglecting their assignments. This caused dissatisfaction among the academic teachers, leading to a complaint reaching Hao Di's office, demanding that they take control. After receiving the complaint from the academic teachers, Liang You Guang and Gu Luo started supervising the athletes' attendance in classes and ensured they didn't sleep or skip school.
