Episode 17 recap: Su Xiaohuan rescued Boqiu and Lord Qiansui.
Su Xiaohuan hurriedly went to find Lord Qiansui, but she was stopped at the door. At that moment, one of Lord Qiansui's subordinates came out and told Su Xiaohuan not to struggle. Su Xiaohuan revealed that the last step of the scroll was actually a joint suicide, so she didn't want Lord Qiansui to die like that. Suddenly, Su Xiaohuan thought of using the Human Scroll, hoping that it could save them.
In the end, the subordinate, still concerned about Lord Qiansui, hastily went to rescue him. Su Xiaohuan said she could go find the Human Scroll. Just then, a person dressed in black appeared, claiming that his goal was to kill the fox demon, and because they had disrupted the formation, they all had to die. The subordinate quickly said that Su Xiaohuan could decipher the Human Scroll, and eventually, they agreed to give Su Xiaohuan three days to crack it.
Su Xiaohuan hurriedly returned and found nothing but stones on the ground. Su Xiaohuan thought that Boqiu had turned into a stone, and she cried sorrowfully in front of it. Su Xiaohuan didn't expect to feel so devastated by Boqiu's passing. She blamed herself and vowed to make it up to him if there was another life.
However, at that moment, Boqiu unexpectedly appeared behind Su Xiaohuan and demanded compensation from her for the rest of her life. Su Xiaohuan immediately embraced Boqiu in her arms, and he mentioned that he almost found release, all because of Su Xiaohuan. Despite feeling happy, Su Xiaohuan believed that as long as Boqiu was alive, it was enough.
Boqiu was surprised that Su Xiaohuan managed to persuade Lord Qiansui. Su Xiaohuan made excuses, pleading with Lord Qiansui for mercy. This made Boqiu even angrier, and he threatened to kill Lord Qiansui. Su Xiaohuan urged him not to hold a grudge against Lord Qiansui, and eventually, Boqiu, considering Su Xiaohuan's face, spared Lord Qiansui.
Before leaving, Boqiu said that he spared Lord Qiansui because of Su Xiaohuan's plea. Su Xiaohuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Lord Qiansui didn't expect that despite their efforts, they ultimately failed. He once thought that his subordinate was the least likely person to stop him, but he didn't expect that they would be the ones to stop him. Su Xiaohuan couldn't decipher the Human Scroll, and he told his subordinate to leave immediately. However, the subordinate insisted on staying by his side.
Su Xiaohuan went to Boqiu's room, intending to comprehend the secrets of the Human Scroll on the icy bed. At first, Su Xiaohuan tried every means to persuade Boqiu, but it was useless. At that moment, Boqiu returned.
