Episode 21 recap: The demon village suffered a devastating genocide.

Boqiu and Su Xiaohuan rushed to the village only to discover that all the villagers had been killed. The village elder was the only one left, barely clinging to life. Before her last breath, Boqiu asked her who was responsible for the massacre. However, the elder urged them not to seek revenge and to live a good life. With those words, the elder ceased to breathe. Boqiu noticed a jade pendant left behind and immediately recognized it as belonging to Lord Qiansui. Su Xiaohuan understood that all of this was orchestrated by Lord Qiansui and intended to confront him. However, Boqiu stopped her.

Boqiu believed that since harm had already been done, Su Xiaohuan didn't need to provoke further conflict. Su Xiaohuan felt responsible for everything that had happened, but Boqiu assured her that it wasn't her fault and had always been by her side to protect her. Lord Qiansui arrived in the human village where rumors were circulating that if they consumed Su Xiaohuan's heart, the people would be safe. Lord Qiansui overheard this.

The common people begged Lord Qiansui to sacrifice Su Xiaohuan for the sake of everyone's safety. Upon returning, the ministers advised Lord Qiansui to make a decision quickly. However, it seemed that Lord Qiansui was still hesitant. Su Xiaohuan and Boqiu lived together in the mountains and their days were filled with happiness. Su Xiaohuan expressed that today was the happiest day of her life. Despite leading a simple life, having Boqiu by her side was enough.

Su Xiaohuan knew that Boqiu was still worried about the curse, but she remained optimistic. She reassured Boqiu that her luck was strong and nothing would go wrong. In reality, both Su Xiaohuan and Boqiu had their own concerns despite appearing happy on the surface. Su Xiaohuan received a letter from Lord Qiansui, informing her of a method to lift the curse but requiring her to come to the palace alone.

In the evening, Su Xiaohuan prepared a table full of food. Boqiu mentioned that he could finally give up his seclusion from the world and stay there. Love, perhaps, was only a few fleeting moments, but both of them hoped for a better future.
