Episode 8 recap: Chen Jing Ming committed suicide in the hospital.
Chen Jing Ming committed suicide by cutting his wrists in the hospital. Upon learning the news, Captain Li rushed to the hospital and found out that Chen Jia Dong had visited in the afternoon and had Chen Jing Ming sign a document. It was only after signing the document that Chen Jing Ming took his own life. Although Chen Jia Dong did not enter the hospital room, his involvement in the signing of the document cannot be ignored.
With Chen Jing Ming's death, the police investigation into him was terminated. Gao Yang informed Lei Nai Wu about Chen Jing Ming's suicide, and Lei Nai Wu was devastated by the news. Despite their conflicts and grievances, Chen Jing Ming's existence was still beneficial to him, as he hoped to receive a sum of money from Chen Jing Ming.

Zheng Dong Yu comforted Gao Yang not to overthink and suggested that perhaps in another world, their father was having a drink and chatting. Therefore, Zheng Dong Yu encouraged Gao Yang to stay strong.
Chen Xue Ying fell ill, and Chen Jia Dong had no choice but to contact Gao Yang. Gao Yang rushed to the Chen family's house and saw that Chen Xue Ying was in a very bad condition. She didn't believe that her father had passed away and claimed to have seen him last night. She even went crazy, believing that a tree had affected the Feng Shui of the house and brought bad luck, causing her father's death.
Lei Nai Wu arranged for his subordinates to capture Uncle Guan. A former associate who had recently joined Lei Nai Wu's side had a good relationship with Gao Yang.
