Episode 11 recap: Yan Mo was injured by Lao Sui, and Lao Sui developed feelings for Yan Mo.
When Yan Mo saw Gu Yan Zhi reunite with Song Ranran according to the scheme from history, she felt particularly sad. She looked at Gu Yan Zhi with a broken heart from a distance. After Gu Yan Zhi saved Song Ranran and saw Yan Mo, he had a sense of familiarity. He wanted to confirm Yan Mo's identity again, but Yan Mo had already disappeared.
Yan Mo knew that Gu Yan Zhi no longer had feelings for her and was moving towards the direction of history. She thought she could accept it, but she didn't expect her heart to ache so much. Heartbroken, Yan Mo rode her bike back home, but halfway there, she was hit by Lao Sui's car. Lao Sui wanted to check on Yan Mo's condition, but Yan Mo recognized him and angrily blamed him for causing her current state, accusing him of being a pile of stinking dog poop.
Song Ranran was happy to reunite with Gu Yan Zhi. She was certain that Gu Yan Zhi was the person she had met in her childhood, and her heart was filled with beautiful dreams of meeting her prince charming. Lu Fei Yan saw a photo in the historical records of Yan Mo crying heartbrokenly when Gu Yan Zhi and Song Ranran met. Worried that something had happened to Yan Mo, she urgently traveled through time to see Yan Mo.
Lu Fei Yan had a small accident during the time travel journey. When she landed, she was thrown out and happened to fall in front of Song Ranran's car, with her nose bleeding. Lu Fei Yan didn't see Song Ranran and was eager to find Yan Mo. Song Ranran, on the other hand, felt a sense of familiarity with Lu Fei Yan and kept staring at her as she left, unable to snap out of it for a long time.
Lu Fei Yan asked Yan Mo about the situation and mentioned the events recorded in the historical records. She reminded Yan Mo that Gu Yan Zhi died in the historical records. Lu Fei Yan hoped that this time Yan Mo wouldn't let the mission fail again because of a romantic involvement. Yan Mo comforted herself, saying she would let go of Gu Yan Zhi and wait until Gu Yan Zhi developed feelings for Song Ranran before taking the blood sample and returning to the future world. So she continued working at the fried chicken restaurant.
Lao Sui went to the research institute and coincidentally saw Yan Mo distributing flyers. He was attracted to Yan Mo, so he approached her to say hello and get to know her. Yan Mo didn't want to pay attention to Lao Sui, but Lao Sui snatched a flyer from her and went to the research institute to find Gu Yan Zhi, taking him to eat fried chicken.
Gu Yan Zhi found it strange that Lao Sui made arrangements like this, dragging him to eat fried chicken. Meanwhile, Yan Mo was afraid of being recognized by Gu Yan Zhi, so she kept avoiding him carefully. In order to get closer to Yan Mo, Lao Sui made an appointment with the restaurant manager for afternoon tea and even gave them an access card, arranging for Yan Mo to deliver the afternoon tea.
Yan Mo didn't want to see Gu Yan Zhi and Lao Sui, but Lao Sui specifically ordered the signature dish she made, forcing her to deliver it to them.
Gu Yan Zhi is still as picky as before. If there are any poorly cooked chicken pieces, he directly asks Yan Mo to replace them. However, Lao Sui puts them directly into Gu Yan Zhi's mouth, and only then does Gu Yan Zhi realize how delicious they are.
Lao Sui tells Gu Yan Zhi that he feels like he has met Yan Mo before and wants to get to know her. Yan Mo, on the other hand, realizes that Gu Yan Zhi doesn't recognize her at all, which makes her feel a little sad. Song Ranran goes to the tea art society to have tea and coincidentally meets Lu Fei Yan. She once again feels a sense of familiarity but can't remember the past. Instead, she remembers the embarrassing moment when Lu Fei Yan fell down that day and directly mentions it, making Lu Fei Yan extremely embarrassed.
Lao Sui takes Gu Yan Zhi to eat fried chicken again, and Yan Mo is very nervous. As a result, she accidentally burns her hand. When Lao Sui sees it, he immediately goes to buy medicine. After buying the medicine, Lao Sui has to go back to the company for a meeting as the directors are pressuring him due to the lack of progress in the drug development. This puts a lot of pressure on Lao Sui.
Unable to withstand the pressure, Lao Sui has an asthma attack. Fortunately, Yan Mo comes to deliver the fried chicken and gives him medicine in time, allowing him to calm down. Yan Mo asks Lao Sui about the situation and learns about the pressure he is facing from the directors. She understands that Lao Sui is not a complete fraud and only did things that hurt Gu Yan Zhi because he was forced and had no other choice.
Yan Mo specifically reminds Lao Sui not to harm the people around him due to temporary pressure. She remembers that the last time something happened to Gu Yan Zhi was because the experiment could not progress. She is afraid that Lao Sui will not be able to handle the pressure again and hurt Gu Yan Zhi, so she wants to stop this from happening.
When Yan Mo goes to find Lao Sui, she happens to overhear Lao Sui pressuring Gu Yan Zhi to compromise. Angry, she scolds Lao Sui and takes Gu Yan Zhi away. Lao Sui starts to feel conflicted because of Yan Mo's words. Gu Yan Zhi goes to talk to Lao Sui again, using their past experience of submitting their graduation thesis to make Lao Sui think it over.
Back then, Lao Sui changed the data of an experiment that couldn't progress in order to submit the thesis, but Gu Yan Zhi disagreed with his approach. Gu Yan Zhi asks Lao Sui to apologize and explain, but Lao Sui refuses. Gu Yan Zhi then flips a coin and asks fate to decide, demanding that Lao Sui apologize. This time, Gu Yan Zhi flips another coin to Lao Sui, hoping that Lao Sui will make the right choice, just like he did back then.
