Episode 15 recap: Shen Mi and Tian Tian resolved the dispute.
Dr. Chen stated that he did mention the possibility of latent distemper to the customer, but the customer didn't pay any attention. Later, when the dog became sick and was brought in for treatment, Fei Lao Ban, the owner of the kennel, hoped that Dr. Chen wouldn't mention any preexisting issues with the dog and even gave him a red envelope. Of course, Dr. Chen refused, but unfortunately, Gao Ju happened to see it.
Gao Ju misunderstood and thought that Dr. Chen was accepting bribes to do his job, which led to the conflict. Shen Mi approached Gao Ju and explained that the incident had already happened, and they should find a solution. Even if Gao Ju exposed them online, they couldn't let their dog die and come back to life. Tian Tian asked Shen Mi why he was speaking so firmly, thinking it might upset Gao Ju.
Shen Mi believed that Gao Ju's perception was the problem. Gao Ju had initially suspected that Dr. Chen was at fault, so when Gao Ju witnessed that scene, it reinforced the belief that Dr. Chen was accepting bribes. Han Meng Nan approached Shen Mi and asked who Gao Zhuo was. Shen Mi was surprised and asked how Han Meng Nan knew about Gao Zhuo. Han Meng Nan asked Shen Mi to answer his question first, whether he had taken Tian Tian to that place.
Shen Mi asked how Han Meng Nan knew about it. Han Meng Nan explained that the last time he visited Shen Mi's house, he saw Shen Mi and Tian Tian's drawings, so he secretly turned on location sharing with Shen Mi when he wasn't paying attention. Shen Mi was furious and said that Han Meng Nan had crossed the line. Han Meng Nan said that Shen Mi had changed since coming back. Every day for so many years, he felt like he was crossing Shen Mi's boundaries and wondered what he had done wrong. He questioned why Shen Mi didn't like him and why Shen Mi was willing to tell this to Tian Tian, whom he had only known for a few months, but not to him.
Shen Mi stated that he had never liked Han Meng Nan and told him to leave immediately.
Han Meng Nan left in anger. When he returned, he asked his father, Gao Zhuo, who he really was and why they had never mentioned it before. Uncle Han explained that it had been a long time since that incident, and Gao Zhuo had already passed away. Bringing it up again would only cause sadness, so they never talked about it.
Shen Mi recalled the past and mentioned that the first time he saw Han Meng Nan, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was. Tian Tian and Shen Chen went to the kennel to find Fei Lao Ban and asked him what was going on. Fei Lao Ban, of course, wouldn't admit that the dog was already sick when it was in his kennel; he quickly dismissed Tian Tian and Shen Chen.
Tian Tian and Shen Chen then went to find Gao Ju, wanting to have a conversation, but Gao Ju refused to talk and had security guards remove them. Shen Mi also arrived and presented a stack of evidence. He revealed that Gao Ju had previously owned a dog that looked exactly like the current one. After Gao Ju's previous dog died, it was difficult for him to find a similar one, and now that this dog had also passed away, Gao Ju was unwilling to forgive.
Shen Mi stated that the most important thing now was to find another dog that looked identical to the previous one for Gao Ju. Everyone split up to search. Shen Mi finally managed to find a dog that closely resembled the previous one. Shen Chen called Gao Ju downstairs and showed him the dog, which made Gao Ju very happy. Shen Chen shared his own story, explaining that when he first arrived in the city, he struggled, and only that dog was there for him.
Gao Ju agreed to let the matter go. Dr. Chen approached Fei Lao Ban and insisted that Fei Lao Ban tell Gao Ju the truth, as only then would he release him. Fei Lao Ban and Dr. Chen went to see Gao Ju, and Fei Lao Ban could only admit that he had made a mistake and didn't inform Gao Ju about the dog's illness.
