Episode 2 recap: Shen Mi Apologizes to Tian Tian
The man claimed that he had a dog license, but Tian Tian checked and found that the age and physical condition didn't match Carlo's, clearly indicating that the dog didn't belong to the man. Tian Tian mentioned that Carlo still needed intravenous fluids and couldn't leave yet, so she asked the man to wait outside with her for a while.
Tian Tian took out her phone and started recording, directly asking the man how much he could sell the dog for. Realizing that he was exposed, the man confessed and said that Carlo wasn't in good condition and wouldn't fetch a high price. He admitted that the dog would likely end up being sold to a dog meat restaurant for only 300 yuan. Tian Tian agreed to the deal for 300 yuan but insisted on discussing it in another location.
The man noticed that Tian Tian was recording and hurriedly tried to grab her phone. Shen Mi found Carlo there and arrived just in time, mistaking Tian Tian for a dog trafficker. She couldn't forget the way her own pet, Zai Zai, had died. Tian Tian packed up her belongings, preparing to resign. Tian Tian's aunt came to visit her. Shen Mi saw a video posted on Weibo and realized that Tian Tian had saved Carlo. It turned out that he misunderstood the situation. Shen Mi asked someone to prepare a mobile phone and planned to apologize to Tian Tian.
General Hu learned about Tian Tian's father's illness and sent someone over, deciding to withdraw the investment from that side. The person offered Tian Tian two options: either find funding to repurchase their shares within seven days, or apply for bankruptcy liquidation.
Shen Mi and the others were discussing the plan to establish a pilot hospital. Shen Hongyuan disagreed, as he believed providing free medication to these hospitals would prevent their company from making a profit. Shen Mi explained that they wanted to open up the market for these drugs, end the situation of mixed quality, and even if the pilot hospitals were free, the pet hospitals would compete for the pilot hospital slots, which could also generate profits.
Manager Zhao came in and mentioned how Shen Mi had forced him to admit accepting kickbacks in the past, promising to resolve the issue, but never did. The legal department found detailed records of every kickback Manager Zhao had taken and said that if he refused to resign, they would sue him and uncover the mastermind behind it. Shen Mi came over to apologize to Tian Tian, but Tian Tian didn't accept the apology.
