Episode 28 recap: Tian Tian and the others perform surgery on the pillow.

Tian Tian and the team at the hospital received a special patient. A woman came with a pillow, claiming that the pillow was her pet named Tangyuan, and that Tangyuan was sick, hence the visit to the hospital. Jiang Auntie had previously gone to Xichong's place, but it was clear that they couldn't accommodate such a patient, so she came to Tianlin Animal Hospital instead.

Tian Tian and the others knew that Jiang Auntie had a slight mental issue, mistaking the pillow for a pet. Instead of directly turning her away, they decided to pretend to treat Tangyuan and mentioned that Tangyuan had a slight fever. They proceeded to give Tangyuan an injection to bring down the fever. Afterward, they assured Jiang Auntie that Tangyuan was fine and she could take Tangyuan home.

Tian Tian poured a glass of water for Jiang Auntie, and Shen Mi also arrived. Jiang Auntie suddenly seemed to have trouble remembering them. Tian Tian explained to Jiang Auntie that they were here to treat Tangyuan. Jiang Auntie quickly wanted to give them money. Tian Tian promptly declined. Shen Mi noticed a card in Jiang Auntie's wallet with information written on it. It stated that Jiang Auntie had Alzheimer's disease and had trouble remembering things. The card also had the contact information for Jiang Auntie's son, Xiaozhi, indicating that they could reach out to him if there were any issues.

Shen Mi contacted Xiaozhi, who hurried over. However, he had taken leave from work to come. His company had been calling him repeatedly. Jiang Auntie kept insisting that Tangyuan was sick and she needed to take Tangyuan back home. Xiaozhi became impatient, stating that they didn't have any pets at home and that he already had to pretend to act with her every day at home. Now, she was even acting outside of home. He emphasized that he was busy with work and didn't have much time to play along with her.

Xiaozhi took Jiang Auntie back home. Tian Tian and the others thought the matter was settled, but the next day, Jiang Auntie showed up again, claiming that Tangyuan was sick. Tian Tian called Dr. Chen and asked him to repeat the same procedure as the previous day, knowing that they were only administering saline solution and it didn't incur any significant costs.

Jiang Auntie described Tangyuan's condition as very serious. In order to appease her, Tian Tian and the others decided to perform surgery on Tangyuan. It was a difficult task, but they managed to convince Jiang Auntie to leave. Jiang Auntie mentioned that Tangyuan had undergone a sterilization surgery before, but they didn't use an Elizabethan collar at the time, which led to some infection. Shen Mi believed that only Tianlin Animal Hospital would perform surgery on a pillow, and if they could do that, they must be even more caring towards real animals.

Tian Tian believed that Jiang Auntie's words were sincere, indicating that there was indeed such a pet. However, Xiaozhi insisted that they had never owned a pet. Tian Tian mentioned that she only learned about sterilization surgeries from books and had never encountered one in real life. Shen Mi called his grandfather to ask about sterilization surgeries, and his grandfather stated that such surgeries were performed 20 to 30 years ago and were now outdated.

In reality, Shen Mi's grandfather was hospitalized, but he hadn't informed Shen Mi. He had lied, saying that he went on a trip to Hainan. Tian Tian asked Shen Mi to find Jiang Auntie and, while searching at her place, they found old photos. It turned out that Tangyuan was discussed when Xiaozhi was very young. Jiang Auntie recalled stories from Xiaozhi's childhood, mentioning how he used to be very close to her. However, as he grew up, he became busier, and it had been a long time since they had spent quality time together.

When Xiaozhi returned and heard Shen Mi's comments, he said he had forgotten about all these things, but Jiang Auntie remembered them clearly. Xiaozhi explained that he worked hard to earn money in order to provide better medication for his mother. Tian Tian pointed out that Jiang Auntie probably wished for her son's companionship more than anything else, and Xiaozhi apologized to his mother.
