Episode 39 recap: Shen Mi admits her identity.
Shen Mi waits outside while Tian Tian makes up her mind and successfully performs the surgery on Carlo. She comes out and assures everyone that Carlo is fine but still needs to be observed. Shen Mi feels relieved upon hearing the news. Tian Tian's aunt arrives and becomes very angry upon seeing Shen Mi there. She can't believe that Shen Mi, a heartless person, dares to come here. She makes it clear that Shen Mi is not welcome and tells her to leave immediately.
Tian Tian tries to explain, but her aunt is not willing to listen. Shen Mi can only leave for now. Dr. Chen looks at Shen Mi and keeps smiling. He feels that Shen Mi can finally pick up the surgical knife again, and he is very happy. It's a great thing for Shen Mi and for Tianlin Animal Hospital.
Han Meng Nan wants to come and find Gu Ming Ze, but he discovers that Gu Ming Ze is no longer here. The house has been entrusted to a real estate agent to sell. The agent mentions that the remaining records will be sent to Gu Ming Ze once he settles down.
Tian Tian mentions that the previous agreement was that if she won, Shen Mi would tell her the secret that she had been keeping. Shen Mi explains that she used to believe that someone like her couldn't have feelings for others or have her own desires. Tian Tian asks if Shen Mi has truly decided to tell her this secret and reassures her that she can wait if she isn't ready yet.
Shen Mi was about to speak when she suddenly receives a call from Han Shu, who informs her that Grandpa Shen has been hospitalized due to a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. Shen Mi immediately rushes to the hospital, and Tian Tian insists on going with her. Although Grandpa Shen is now out of danger, due to his old age, it's best for the blood clot to dissolve on its own.
Shen Hong Yuan suggests that Grandpa Shen's sudden collapse was surely caused by Shen Mi's actions. Han Shu reveals that Grandpa Shen had known about his condition for a long time. Shen Hong Yuan asks if Grandpa Shen left any words behind.
Han Shu says that Grandpa Shen did make a will, instructing it to be taken out when he becomes incapacitated. Shen Hong Yuan believes that now is the time.
Han Shu presents the will, which states that all of the shares in Lvchuan should be given to Shen Mi's mother, and three properties should be given to Shen Mi, Shen Chen, and Shen Hong Yuan respectively. The rest of the assets should be divided equally between Shen Mi and Shen Chen.
Shen Hong Yuan is extremely angry to discover that he won't receive anything from Lvchuan. Shen Mi plans to hold a shareholders' meeting. Meanwhile, Shen Hong Yuan receives a delivery, which turns out to be the results of a previous paternity test, confirming that Shen Mi has no biological relationship with Grandpa Shen.
At the shareholders' meeting, Shen Mi reveals this information, stating that she cannot be the CEO. If that was what she was going to say originally, she decides to resign. Shen Mi's mother arrives and claims that it's all a lie, as she has already signed the documents and is now the majority shareholder. She asserts that no one can drive her son away.
Shen Mi apologizes to her mother, admitting that she is no longer there. Han Shu asks if Shen Mi has made up her mind, and she replies that she will continue to live on as Gao Zhuo. Shen Mi visits Grandpa Shen, promising that she will uncover the truth about what happened to her in the past, as it is the last thing she can do for Grandpa Shen.
Gu Ming Ze is arranging things for the homestay. Han Meng Nan comes to find Gu Ming Ze, and Gu Ming Ze is pleasantly surprised. Han Meng Nan reveals that he buried the piano under the tree, indicating that he has found someone who will love and care for him.
Shen Mi calls Han Meng Nan and asks if he knows a lot of people in the media, requesting his help to investigate something. Han Meng Nan agrees to assist.
