Episode 6 recap: Shen Mi and Tian Tian signed a contract.
After returning to the office, Tian Tian couldn't help but burst into tears, and Shen Mi comforted her outside. Tian Tian also talked about her previous pet, Zai Zai. It was a stray dog abandoned by someone else, and she picked it up. At first, Zai Zai refused to eat or drink and didn't allow anyone to touch or hold it. But as time went on and it became more familiar, it improved a lot. However, when Zai Zai fell ill, Tian Tian performed surgery on it, but it couldn't be saved.
Tian Tian had originally thought that Zai Zai could accompany her for a lifetime, but now it had turned out like this. After learning about Zai Zai's situation, it was too late for the surgery. Dr. Chen came over and said that Hu Zi's injuries were very severe, and he couldn't save it. Tian Tian became even more heartbroken.
Shen Mi reminded Tian Tian to think about Carlo, whom she had saved two years ago, and said that if it weren't for him, Carlo would have been gone by now. Shen Mi encouraged Tian Tian to take a closer look at the pets she had saved and the families she had helped. Tian Tian talked about these clients, but Shen Mi told her not to worry about them.
Gu Ming Ze met Han Meng Nan, and Han Meng Nan mentioned that Gu Ming Ze had previously said he would treat him to a meal and asked if he was available today. Gu Ming Ze said he was available. Han Meng Nan called Shen Mi to ask if he had any plans today. Shen Mi remembered what Tian Tian had said about not knowing how to tell Zhou Da Ye about Hu Zi and said he had something to do tonight.
Han Meng Nan asked if Shen Mi had forgotten what day it was today and suggested having an earlier dinner together. Shen Mi came over and met Han Meng Nan. Han Meng Nan talked about Gu Ming Ze and emphasized how important he was for future development, urging Shen Mi not to hand this person over to Shen Hong Yuan.
Shen Mi expressed that he had originally thought that in this place where they first met, on this once-a-year occasion, they could at least have a good meal together. Besides, he had already said that he was no longer in charge of the R&D department.
Han Meng Nan expressed that Shen Mi has always been in a hurry these years, eating with him as if completing a task. If that's the case, it's better to discuss business matters instead.

Shen Mi returned home and saw Carlo, recalling the incident when they saved Carlo's mother together with their friends when they were young. Later, Carlo's mother passed away, and they adopted Carlo. Tian Tian had previously talked to Shen Mi about today's events, and Tian Tian felt that she was quite fragile. Tian Tian's father believed that if Tian Tian could cry, it meant she was facing it.
Shen Mi talked to his father about the situation at Tianlin Animal Hospital, stating that the bank would definitely not grant a loan, so he would use his own savings as a temporary solution. Shen Mi and Tian Tian officially signed the contract, and Dr. Chen met Yue Yue, who came for an interview and thought she was quite good, so he asked Yue Yue to come and work.
Shen Mi took a look at Yue Yue's resume and mentioned the director, Liu, from the hospital where Yue Yue used to work. Yue Yue said that Director Liu was good to them. Shen Mi came over to tell Tian Tian that they should let Yue Yue leave because her resume was fake. Shen Mi stated that the hiring matters were Dr. Chen's responsibility, and he would talk to him about it.
Shen Mi and Tian Tian called everyone together for a meeting, but everyone was lazy and didn't pay much attention to Shen Mi's words. Shen Mi mentioned the future operations and stated that all the current employees of Tianlin Pet Hospital have to be fired, not a single one will be kept.
