Episode 36 recap: Xiao Rui's diagnosis.
Fang Xiaoran messaged Lin Yi, suggesting they meet by the lake later. Fang Zhuqing mentioned that the weather forecast predicted rain later, but Fang Xiaoran thought it was okay as long as she brought an umbrella. Luo Zhuren wondered if Xiao Shimu was overcompensating after resolving her inner conflicts.
Fang Xiaoran wanted to buy fish to cook, but Lin Yi called her and informed her that Xiao Rui had been diagnosed. Zhou Xiaofeng came to see Jiang Yining and found her painting her nails.
Zhou Xiaofeng asked Jiang Yining to organize the course of the illness and send it to her email. It had to be submitted by noon tomorrow, but Jiang Yining wanted to wait a bit longer, which Zhou Xiaofeng disagreed with. Zhou Xiaofeng was about to leave, and Jiang Yining thanked her.

Fang Xiaoran misunderstood, thinking that Lin Yi was going for surgery, and urged him to go quickly. Zhou Xiaofeng and Chen Yue had dinner together and prepared two movie tickets, hoping to watch the movie with Chen Yue. However, they found out that Chen Yue had already seen the movie.
Fang Xiaoran wanted to buy fish to cook and called Lin Yi. Lin Yi informed her that Xiao Rui had been diagnosed. Fang Xiaoran was extremely surprised. Lin Yi told Xiao Rui about the situation, and Xiao Rui acknowledged that it couldn't be kept a secret for long, but he wanted to keep it hidden a little longer.
Lin Yi hugged Xiao Rui and suggested that he move back in with him. However, Xiao Rui refused, feeling that he was doing fine at the moment. His teachers and classmates were still unaware of the situation, and he wanted to enjoy a simple life playing basketball and piano for a little longer.
Lin Yi reluctantly agreed as well. Zhou Xiaofeng handed a notice to Lin Yi, mentioning that a patient had complained about Lin Yi's inattentiveness, but Lin Yi didn't take the complaint to heart.
Colleagues talked about Lin Yi and were surprised to learn that he had taken annual leave. Fang Xiaoran learned about Xiao Rui's diagnosis from Zhou Xiaofeng and felt that if she went to see Lin Yi, it might put a lot of pressure on him. She suggested Zhou Xiaofeng visit Lin Yi instead, and Zhou Xiaofeng agreed.
Zhou Xiaofeng went to see Lin Yi, who appeared visibly down. Lin Yi expressed his belief that everyone's ultimate destination is death, so why bother starting a meaningless life. Zhou Xiaofeng acknowledged that Lin Yi had saved many patients but hadn't been happy himself. He didn't want Fang Xiaoran to live in such darkness either.
Jiang Yining organized the course of the illness and sent it to Zhou Xiaofeng, who made some comments and expressed that Jiang Yining would become a good doctor in the future. Shi Tou also thanked Zhou Xiaofeng, stating that he and Jiang Yining aspired to be good doctors like Zhou Xiaofeng.
Director Cao and others came to visit Lin Yi, bringing him a lot of food and inquiring about his plans while on leave. Lin Yi hadn't thought much about it and even considered quitting his medical career. Director Cao's wife believed it was a good thing for Lin Yi to take a break. Jiang Yining had already gone to the orthopedic ward and was screaming in pain during rehabilitation training.
Zhou Xiaofeng came to see Jiang Yining, and Jiang Yining argued with her. Guan, the head physician, felt that after Xiao Shimu resolved her inner conflicts, she might be overcompensating now and had become too liberated. Zhou Xiaofeng and Chen Yue went to watch a comedy show and enjoyed it.

Zhou Xiaofeng was surprised and didn't expect Chen Yue to leave so soon. She wanted to accompany Chen Yue, but Chen Yue explained that Zhou Xiaofeng didn't have a visa.
