Episode 21 recap: Shen Huaibi's identity is exposed.

Li Caiwei and Lan Xin hid in the shadows, observing Shen Huaibi's every move. They both saw someone coming out of the room but were unsure if it was Shen Huaibi. So Li Caiwei secretly followed to investigate. Guo An helped Shen Huaijin try on a wedding dress and mentioned that Miss Caiwei had been fixated on Shen Huaibi lately, for some unknown reason. Shen Huaijin pondered upon hearing this.

Li Caiwei arrived at the garden and looked around but didn't notice anything unusual. Just then, a figure appeared behind her, wielding a knife and lunging towards her. Fortunately, Li Caiwei was prepared and dodged in time. When she turned around, she was surprised to see that the attacker was actually the steward Fan.

Fan lunged at Li Caiwei again, but thanks to the timely arrival of Shen Huaijin and Guo An, Guo An confronted Fan with his sword, demanding that he confess everything. However, Fan swore to die rather than comply and took advantage of the situation to grab Guo An's sword and slit his own throat. Li Caiwei was injured in the arm by Fan, and Shen Huaijin helped her dress the wound. Li Caiwei couldn't understand why Fan wanted to kill her.

Shen Huaijin reassured her to rest and entrusted the investigation and handling of the matter to himself. Just then, Shen Huaibi and Liu Jingshu arrived together. Shen Huaibi spoke first, revealing that he was not the biological son of the consort. When she was pregnant, she gave birth to a stillborn child, so she and the midwife decided to switch the baby with Fan's son, who became Shen Huaibi. Liu Jingshu continued, saying that now that she had been expelled from the palace, her resentment grew, and she coerced Fan into secretly harming Shen Huaijin. Since Li Caiwei was cautious at every turn, Fan had to eliminate her first. Shen Huaibi confirmed the truth and emphasized the need to set things straight. Shen Huaijin stated that he would uphold the principles of his father and that this matter had nothing to do with Huaibi.
