Episode 3 recap: Chen Jia Ping completes the mission.
In this dangerous situation, Chen Jia Ping disregards everything and rescues his companion. Once they both sit down, they begin exchanging secret signals. Although Chen Jia Ping doesn't know the other person's identity at this moment, he is grateful that the organization hasn't forgotten about him. Having spent a long time undercover in Shanghai, he knows that the organization has been silently observing his every move, assessing whether he has compromised with his surroundings and whether his skills have deteriorated.
Upon hearing his analysis, the person next to him starts seeking pleasure and asks why Chen Jia Ping fired his gun. At that moment, Chen Jia Ping continues to smile and explains the entire process he has speculated about. He firmly believes that he can successfully seal the final outcome. After hearing his speculations, the person in front of him is very satisfied with Chen Jia Ping's performance and plans to officially induct him into the organization, becoming his contact person from now on.
While Chen Jia Ping helps arrange accommodations for his companion, the other person informs him about the unfortunate news of a traitor within the organization. Once their identities are exposed, they must immediately leave Shanghai. However, undeterred by the difficulties, Chen Jia Ping decisively takes note of this mission and promises to accomplish it.
After returning, he can also manipulate his relationship with Zhao An in front of old friends and actively show his support for him. Taking advantage of moments when the other person is not paying attention, Chen Jia Ping secretly sneaks into the room to search for what he desires. He successfully escapes the scrutiny of familiar faces and considers whether to report what he knows to the organization in an emergency situation.
After sharing all of these events, Chen Jia Ping continues to talk to the person in front of him about his small business dealings. Zuo Shuang Tao also explains the things he has done, just like the other person. They then praise each other's abilities, and after the compliments, Zuo Shuang Tao brings up why the other person didn't come. Apparently, the two of them had plans to get married and register their marriage, but at a critical moment, Chen Jia Ping, in order to earnestly fulfill the mission assigned by the organization, didn't show up. At that time, he still intended to spend the rest of his life repaying his beloved.
After inquiring about some details, Zuo Shuang Tao intends to send the person away and asks them to come back the next day. On the other side, the Japanese individuals quickly become restless. They plan to continue exposing the true identity of Mei Hua Si. Taking advantage of a moment of leisure, Zuo Shuang Tao sneaks away by herself and disguises herself as a dead body, being carried into the mortuary. Once inside, she continues to search, but unexpectedly gets trapped inside.
As the footsteps draw nearer and the tension rises, the scene rewinds two hours ago. Chen Jia Ping disguises himself as a doctor and sneaks in, releasing the trapped person and successfully escaping. The next day, he and Zuo Shuang Tao visit the aunt's house. Unexpectedly, the Japanese people gather innocent civilians and threaten to find the whereabouts of Mei Hua Si. Even Chen Jia Ping, who is disguised among them, falls victim to the trap. Zuo Shuang Tao, hearing the commotion, rushes over to search for the missing person.
