Episode 31 recap: Lu Fang Fang sacrifices herself.

Upon witnessing everything, Lu Fang Fang continues to tightly embrace Chen Jia Ping. However, when she realizes that they are not making any sudden moves, she starts to question the validity of the intelligence they received. After Chen Jia Ping hears the sleeping words of the other party, he lets out a sigh of relief and continues to act alongside the people around him.

After the two of them discuss their plan, they stage a grand performance in front of the undercover agents. Once they withdraw, gunshots can be heard in the surroundings. Lu Fang Fang quickly sustains severe injuries during the ensuing battle. Zuo Shuang Tao arrives at the scene alone, holding a gun, and begins to interrogate them.

As people rush over, they also discover Lu Fang Fang's lifeless body lying on the street. Chen Jia Ping, who has fallen into the water, silently returns to find Zuo Shuang Tao. The opposing sides quickly start questioning each other. It turns out that at the scene, Zuo Shuang Tao had ordered her accomplices to hand over Lu Fang Fang's body to her. Sitting in the car, she directly handed over the item and wholeheartedly believed in the path taken by the Communists. Understanding the situation, Chen Jia Ping realizes that the person in front of him did not harm Lu Fang Fang. Unexpectedly, in this situation, the two of them resume their fight inside the house. As they both hold pistols in their hands, a life-or-death duel ensues. Outside, Zuo Shuang Tao, having made up her mind, takes out a hand grenade, prepared to perish together with her husband. Suddenly, the surroundings are filled with a red glow.

Upon witnessing this scene, Qian Xiucai runs directly to the martial artists down the mountain to report the exposure of Lu Fang Fang and the internal strife between the Four of Clubs and the Five of Hearts. He immediately admires the scholar in front of him and praises his abilities, even offering to give up his position in the business to let him take over.

After it was almost dark, Chen Jia Ping walked out alone. Soon, he reunited with his wife, Zuo Shuang Tao, and sat together. They cleared up the misunderstandings between them. It turned out that Zuo Shuang Tao had also discovered that the whole situation was orchestrated by Director Jiang Si. He had pushed all the blame onto Chen Jia Ping, even though Chen Jia Ping himself learned the true cause of Lu Fang Fang's death. It wasn't his wife who had killed her. Despite the twists and difficulties they had gone through, they still believed in each other. With these thoughts in mind, Chen Jia Ping deeply embraced his wife and prepared to continue with their plan.

Three days before the operation, the news spread through the streets, carried by newspaper boys, that Han Lu was preparing to marry the martial artist down the mountain. During Han Lu's coffee break, Director Jiang, who had failed in his mission, took the initiative to approach her. He tried to persuade her to not marry the Japanese man but instead choose to live with him in an unknown place. However, these words, which Han Lu might have believed in the past, now received a cold and silent response.

As the planned time approached, Gao Fang and others also learned that the Japanese investment in the film industry was just a cover, and their true intention was to continue the Sugi Project. When Yamashita Takeshi sat with his companions, they couldn't understand why he still wanted to marry Han Lu. He revealed that his purpose was to produce a new film to deceive the Chinese people.

Then the day of the plan arrived. Han Lu, dressed in a kimono, walked together with Yamashita Takeshi. People around them began to grow restless. During the wedding ceremony, Han Lu kept glancing at her watch, but despite searching for a long time, she couldn't find any trace of the key. Then, taking advantage of the chaotic situation, she successfully obtained the item. Just as the people nearby were preparing to leave, Yamashita Takeshi suddenly called out to someone, stopping them in their tracks.
