Episode 5 recap: Zuo Shuang Tao was punished.

Just as Zhao An finished listening to the people around him expressing concern for Luo Guan Qun's safety, he began to feel downcast. However, he wasn't worried about his own situation at all because he had guarded the Japanese money vault well. He didn't have the slightest concern about being harmed. While the two of them were in an intimate moment, they were unexpectedly interrupted by someone at the door.

Afterward, Zhao An continued discussing matters with Pierre and promised to assist him after completing the task. Once their cooperation was finished, he eagerly rushed out with his belongings, completely oblivious to the presence of several masked robbers outside the gate. The robbers wasted no time in rounding up everyone inside the bank and forcing them to crouch down in one place. Even Zhao An and the people around him had no choice but to comply. They hurriedly surrendered all their valuable possessions. To their surprise, one of the robbers, driven by greed, decided to search further and openly took an important confidential letter from a briefcase.

Unable to bear the thought of losing his important belongings, Zhao An finally stood up in anger and drew his gun to confront them. However, he soon had to back down due to the current situation. As the people gradually left, Zhao An, along with those around him, rushed forward to fight and reclaim the envelope. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed encountering the security police. They quickly took cover under the assailants' gunfire. Just as the group was about to rush past, they hastily grabbed some items from the ground and fled. When Zhao An regained his senses, he searched for a long time but couldn't find the important envelope. He was mistaken as a robber and taken to the police station for interrogation.

While inside, Zhao An was constantly worried about his crucial envelope. However, the chief deliberately refused to lend a hand in finding the item at this critical moment. When the chief saw Zhao An preparing to search for it himself, he immediately stopped him and ordered everyone to line up. Feeling deliberately provoked, Zhao An had no choice but to swallow his anger. Before leaving, he made a firm promise to remember the chief's actions.

After everyone had left, the chief leisurely washed his hands and took the envelope to find an old friend, Chen Jia Ping. He specifically boasted to Chen Jia Ping about his splendid acting skills.

While Zuo Shuang Tao was aimlessly walking by the bridge, she was constantly worried about the lost envelope. This time, she began to believe that the task entrusted to her by the organization might fail. Unexpectedly, she quickly noticed someone following her from behind. Just when she managed to shake off her pursuer, she fell into a trap and was taken away.

In that instant, Zuo Shuang Tao realized that she was bound and gagged. She heard voices around her, and her memories quickly took her back to the time in Nanjing. Zuo Shuang Tao, who had not joined the Military Statistics Bureau (军统), had almost been killed by a collaborator. Fortunately, Liu Wu Chang, an operative from the Military Statistics Action Committee, saved her on the spot. Moved by his impassioned words, and filled with hatred for the collaborators, Zuo Shuang Tao decided to accept his request and join their ranks to fight against the Japanese.

After being captured, Zuo Shuang Tao was subjected to severe punishment. The organization reminded her to continue utilizing Chen Jia Ping to fulfill her mission. Following their orders, Zuo Shuang Tao approached Chen Jia Ping and voluntarily sought reconciliation, intending to stop the conflict.

Upon returning, she personally prepared a delicious meal and presented it to Chen Jia Ping. She even invited others to join them for the meal. After eating, Zuo Shuang Tao received a mysterious note. Curiosity piqued, she hurriedly went to the designated location and discovered that someone from a business firm had uncovered some clues. They continued to hold onto something as a threat, intending to deliver it to Zhao An or Luo Guan Qun.
