Episode 13 recap: The sisters turned against each other.
Yan Jun Jie discovered that a contract belonging to Luo Yi Wei was missing from Fan Wen Kai's safe, and there were fingerprints of other individuals unrelated to Fan Wen Kai. Gu Yuan brought Luo Yi Wei to the police station for questioning regarding her visit to the Fan family. Initially, Luo Yi Wei intended to conceal the truth, but since there were fingerprints left at the scene, she had no choice but to tell the truth.
Luo Yi Wei explained that she intended to steal the contract from the Fan family. She had previously signed an unfair contract with Fan Wen Kai, where she not only had to make money for him but also be his lover. Unable to bear it any longer, she wanted to steal the contract to regain her freedom. Luo Yi Wei claimed that when she entered Fan Wen Kai's study, she found him unconscious on the floor. While attempting to steal the contract, she was caught off guard by Fan Wen Kai regaining consciousness.
In a state of panic, Luo Yi Wei struck Fan Wen Kai with an object and then left the Fan residence. Gu Yuan and his team, based on Luo Yi Wei's testimony, were now searching for the truth behind Fan Wen Kai's death. At the same time, Yan Jun Jie discovered that Luo Yi Wei and Chen Fei were secret lovers, and that Luo Yi Wei had recently undergone an abortion.
There were many suspicions surrounding Luo Yi Wei, leading Gu Yuan to believe that she and Chen Fei may have conspired to murder Duan Xiu Chan and Fan Wen Kai. Gu Yuan returned to Fan Wen Kai's house for further investigation and discovered ants that had gone unnoticed previously. This led him to realize that the ants were attracted by sugar cubes. He conducted an experiment at the scene involving the sugar cubes.
While Gu Yuan was conducting the experiment, Che Su Wei was interrogating Chen Fei. Chen Fei consistently distanced himself from any involvement, leaving Che Su Wei with no evidence. Suddenly, Gu Yuan appeared in the interrogation room and instructed Che Su Wei to interrogate Luo Yi Wei, while he stayed behind to have a conversation with Chen Fei, which made Chen Fei nervous.
Gu Yuan approached Chen Fei from behind and dropped a sugar cube into Chen Fei's water cup. He questioned Chen Fei about the speed at which the sugar cube dissolved in perfume. Chen Fei became visibly nervous upon hearing Gu Yuan's words. Gu Yuan then revealed his deduction of the sequence of events.
Gu Yuan explained that Luo Yi Wei had knocked Fan Wen Kai unconscious, causing her to panic. She called Chen Fei for help, and it was then that Chen Fei went to the Fan residence. Inside Fan Wen Kai's house, Chen Fei orchestrated the fall of the armor at the pre-planned time using the sugar cube and perfume, and then beheaded Fan Wen Kai, making it appear as an accident.
Gu Yuan exposed Chen Fei's scheme, but Chen Fei still refused to admit everything. However, when Luo Yi Wei learned that Chen Fei was taking the blame, she voluntarily admitted to killing Fan Wen Kai in an attempt to protect him. Chen Fei, upon hearing that Luo Yi Wei was taking the blame for him, finally confessed to everything. He explained that he did it all for Luo Yi Wei and blamed himself for being too weak, leading them to this irreversible situation.
Chen Fei was unaware of Luo Yi Wei's desire to elope with him, and by the time he found out, it was too late. He had already planned to kill Duan Xiu Chan at the grand theater, and he couldn't leave with Luo Yi Wei. Chen Fei admitted to everything and, while being locked up in a prison cell, he encountered Luo Yi Wei and requested to talk to her.
Luo Yi Wei questioned Chen Fei about when he started to have feelings for her, and Chen Fei revealed that he was drawn to her performance and had been silently observing her all along. Chen Fei had initially planned to silently watch over Luo Yi Wei from behind, but unintentionally witnessed Fan Wen Kai assaulting her. This incident made him determined to do everything in his power to protect Luo Yi Wei.
Luo Yi Wei was deeply moved by Chen Fei's feelings for her. She had intended to surprise Chen Fei and run away with him, but she discovered that Chen Fei also wanted to seek revenge for her and give her a surprise. In the end, the two of them embarked on this irreversible path. Luo Yi Wei explained everything to Chen Fei and expressed her desire to propose to him. However, Chen Fei rejected Luo Yi Wei and bid her farewell.
With the murder of Duan Xiu Chan and Luo Yi Wei's imprisonment, the Shen sisters became the ultimate winners, attracting even more attention from the media. The reporters captured a photo of a woman involved in an affair with Qiao Yun Fei, and the style of the woman's dress resembled Shen Qing He's. The reporters used this as leverage to extort Shen Qing He. Shen Qing Ru initially wanted Shen Qing He to live with her in the villa, but Shen Qing He refused, leaving her to deal with the blackmailing reporter alone.

Shen Qing Ru agreed to Shen Qing He's request, but she asked Shen Qing He to bear the tarnished reputation and took advantage of her vulnerability to strangle Shen Qing He with a curtain rope when she least expected it.
