Season without Kang Yichen lacks emotional depth, focusing only on solving cases.
2-3: Adapted from Tao Qiubao's original story "The Three-Person Locked Room Case" featuring a deceitful martial arts school and a crime of passion.
4-7: A child kidnapping case involving human traffickers and a mother who abducts other people's children. Da Shuai, the protagonist, is quite interesting. Da Shuai, Ah Qiang, Er Pijiang, and Ah Qiang's mother all have a tough time.
8-11: A series of linked missing persons and murder cases involving organ trafficking and gold theft, all for the sake of the protagonist's younger brother.
11-13: A tragic love story.
13-14: False sisterhood.
15-18: The "Protect the Family" organization and the true and fake family head, loyal servants.
19-21: Stock fraud and revenge.
22-23: Five-element murders, a story of unfortunate individuals seeking revenge on society.
There is also a fourth season.

I didn't have much expectation at the beginning, but as I continued watching, I found the cases to be decent. They're not something you can scrutinize, but following the process of searching for the culprits is still enjoyable. Moreover, each case has multiple twists, and the quality of the cases is actually above average. However, it seems like the main actors don't have much fame, and it feels like they were parachuted in when the series started. Nonetheless, it's still worth watching.

Just finished watching it. The main storyline suddenly popped up out of nowhere, and the final ending with faking death, why? They even left room for a sequel... The new addition of that small-time thug is even more disappointing than the previous second-generation gang member. The forensic expert character is a bit too versatile, and as for the police chief... that acting... The case parts focus more on urban legends and debunking, but the technical aspect is not as impressive as the supernatural elements. There were too many smoke bombs in the kidnapping case involving the child, and the pacing was poorly handled. The later cases were somewhat better.

Watching the third season, surprisingly, what I miss the most are Qiao Zhenyu and Han Dong. The casting in this season is full of actors with similar faces, and I can't distinguish who is who. Besides that, it's rare to see him without a romantic storyline in this cliché detective drama! Setting aside the illogical aspects of the cases and the low level of attractiveness, they managed to incorporate current events and mix it with a fictional timeline. Director, please make a fourth season and keep deceiving me to keep watching! It's still a bad drama, but my tolerance for these supernatural-themed bad dramas is still high.

The plot is decent except for the first storyline. However, in one of the cases, the forensic doctor lacks any police intuition. Lihua pointed out strange things multiple times, but in the end, she was fired. She even made Lihua, a weak woman, go back and fight for her inheritance, which ultimately led to Lihua's tragic death. It's truly mindless and speechless.

I watched this installment because of the plot of the first two parts, but it took me several attempts to barely finish it. The Chinese-style horror atmosphere created for the cases was really great (worth two stars? ???), but I can't compliment much else. Why does the Chief Inspector go undercover every day? (Since it's meant to be a series, I think the focus should be on the ensemble cast.) When it comes to nurturing new talent, they do everything themselves and their intelligence seems to have declined. After getting promoted, they seem to lack the enthusiasm they had before and are constantly restricted by the Public Security Bureau. This installment seems to focus on just one character. I hope the director can go on to direct horror films; they should be great at it.

It deviated from the style and character settings of the first two installments and reconstructed a new story. The good news is that as a detective drama, it's heading in the right direction, although there are issues with borrowing various case plots from elsewhere... The bad news is that it lacks enjoyment. It seems like this IP was created solely for the sake of the male and female leads, even if their relationship keeps changing again and again, haha.

Not as good as the second installment. The process of solving cases became more and more perfunctory. It's just a story to pass the time, not bad. In the end, Gu Yuan pulled off an escape maneuver like a cicada shedding its skin. The screen displayed four words at the end, "To be continued." It seems there might be a fourth installment?!

The overall pacing and quality of this installment are not as good as the previous two. The detective plot lacks precision, but it's still watchable. Fortunately, the male and female leads didn't change, and the new characters didn't overshadow them. There's absolutely no romantic storyline; the focus is solely on the investigations.

Pretty good. Several cases actually reflect current social issues. For example, child trafficking, organ trafficking, and the lack of ethical boundaries in media. Pretty good. Just that Dong Xuan seems a bit old and occasionally overacts. But overall, it's not bad.

A few of the case storylines are decent, but other than that, there aren't many merits. The script feels like it was written by two different screenwriters. Sometimes it's okay, but other times the wording is extremely modern. Even if you read a couple of Republican-era romance novels, it wouldn't be this way. Did they not even finish middle school? There are many instances where the editing is disjointed. There are numerous logical loopholes in the deductions, and even after three seasons, there hasn't been much improvement.

Except for the rushed ending in the last two episodes, the cases in this season are still very intriguing! Also, I really miss Qiao Zhenyu and Han Dong! I want to see their interactions with Dong Xuan! Bring them back quickly for the next season!
