Episode 20 recap: Qi Er and Yun Hua are sweet and affectionate.
Huan Yun Hua and Jing Qi Er happily hold hands as they return to the tea house. Uncle Er stands before them, and Huan Yun Hua tells Jing Qi Er that he has come to resolve the situation. Inside the house, Huan Yun Hua openly admits that he and Jing Qi Er have reconciled, while Uncle Er continues to pretend. Huan Yun Hua directly confronts him, stating that he has investigated and knows that Uncle Er is behind the government's actions. He sarcastically wishes Uncle Er to find a suitable match and then leaves.
At the dining table, Uncle Er confronts Ying Jie Fu, questioning whether a maid can eat at the table. Jing Qi Er speaks up to support Ying Jie Fu, and only then does Uncle Er relent. Focusing his attention on Jing Qi Er and Huan Yun Hua, who are lovingly together, Uncle Er becomes angry and storms off. Sai Mudan shows concern for Ying Jiping, and Ying Jie Fu reveals that Ying Jiping recently experienced heartbreak and has been buying stinky tofu.
Jing Qi Er and Huan Yun Hua continue to be sweet and affectionate every day, which displeases Uncle Er. Ying Jiping remains alone and sorrowful. Uncle Er, upon seeing Ying Jiping, also starts buying stinky tofu. The two sit together, eating stinky tofu while pouring out their grievances. Huan Yun Hua prepares a surprise for Jing Qi Er, blindfolding her and leading her into a room filled with candlelight. They sit together and chat, but suddenly, Huan Yun Hua sighs. Jing Qi Er asks what's wrong, and Huan Yun Hua confesses that he feels somewhat guilty towards Ying Jiping. Jing Qi Er comforts him, and Huan Yun Hua asks her what's been bothering her. Jing Qi Er reveals that the tea house's business has plummeted, and she can't bear to steal the Return to Origin Pill anymore. Huan Yun Hua suggests that she directly ask Sai Mudan for it, but Jing Qi Er believes they are all fake and doesn't want to go through with it. Additionally, she worries that Sai Mudan would be hurt if she found out the truth. Huan Yun Hua assures her that he will help her obtain the pill with her own abilities.
The next day, a notice announces that the prize for the martial arts conference is the Return to Origin Pill personally handed over by Sai Mudan. It turns out that Huan Yun Hua convinced Sai Mudan to provide it. Jing Qi Er's emotions become complicated, and she says she needs to reconsider. Jing Qi Er worries about her social anxiety disorder, and Huan Yun Hua senses it and silently resolves to help her overcome it.
