Episode 19 recap: Princess Chu Chu arrived in the capital, and Jiuling decided to destroy the star map.
As the rain fell, Jiuling wandered aimlessly in the woods, haunted by the tragic scenes of her father and brothers being killed. A Tan and Cheng Bi couldn't find Jiuling anywhere, so they had no choice but to return to the Rong residence alone. Jiuling, on the other hand, arrived at the graves of her father and brothers, kneeling deeply and repenting for mistaking her enemies for her family. She asked her father and brother to wait for her, promising that she would find them once peace was restored.
When Cheng Bi returned and reported that Jiuling was missing, Rong Yu became anxious. The Regent sent his daughter, Song Lin, to Xunnan, and Miss Jiang had full confidence in becoming the Empress. The Regent couldn't help but repeatedly admonish and instruct her, even the Crown Prince felt that his father was too nagging.
Jiuling returned to the Rong residence, and upon seeing her, Rong Jiang became furious and wanted to scold her. Jiuling no longer respected him as before, and she grabbed Rong Jiang's wrist. He berated her for not returning all night and causing Rong Yu to disappear while searching for her. He said that Jiuling was a calamity for the Rong family. Perhaps feeling guilty, Rong Jiang no longer argued with Jiuling and took his family to search for Rong Yu. On the way, Princess Chu Chu and her entourage stopped to rest and eat. Coincidentally, Rong Yu, who was also searching for Jiuling, arrived there. However, Rong Yu ignored her and at that moment, he heard Zhan Ping's voice and quickly entered the princess's carriage.
After Zhan Ping left, the princess got into the carriage and talked to Rong Yu. He said he was looking for his wife and asked her to help him get out of the forest. When the princess saw Rong Yu take off his hat, she found him truly charming, with a jade-like appearance, and couldn't help but feel delighted, thinking it was a heaven-sent marriage. However, Rong Yu didn't want to engage in too much conversation with her.
The princess and her group arrived at an inn for accommodation, while Rong Yu only focused on eating his steamed buns. Jiuling returned to her room feeling bored, and upon hearing Cheng Bi say that Zhan Ping, who went to find Rong Yu, hadn't returned, she became worried about Rong Yu's safety. She quickly prepared her horse and went out to search for him.
Meanwhile, Rong Yu had already divined that Jiuling would come, so he eagerly went out to meet her.
Rong Yu was overjoyed when he saw Jiuling, but Jiuling suddenly didn't know how to face him. Rong Yu couldn't control his emotions any longer and rushed forward to embrace Jiuling. They returned to the inn, where Jiuling prepared a bed for Rong Yu and told him to rest well, promising to send him back to the Rong residence the next day.
Seeing her shedding tears, Rong Yu approached her to offer comfort and asked her what had happened. Jiuling ambiguously said she had gotten lost, and Rong Yu assured her that he would definitely take her home. Jiuling felt even sadder inside. She no longer had a home. Everyone had sinned, and only Rong Yu was innocent, but they could never go back to how things were between them.
Rong Yu held Jiuling tightly and vowed to protect herfrom any harm, promising that no one would hurt her. Jiuling's heart was torn apart, as she had experienced the pain of being alone. How could she let Rong Yu become like her? Jiuling accompanied Rong Yu back to the Rong residence, and everyone was happy to see them. However, Rong Yu could clearly sense the intentional distance between him and Jiuling.
Princess Chu Chu instructed her maidservant to gather information about Rong Yu and learned that he was the deputy head of the Astrological Pavilion. This made her even happier, as she believed that she would become the wife of the pavilion's master in the future. She joyfully prepared gifts for each minister. The next day, the princess went to pay respects to the Empress Dowager, and all the ministers greeted her warmly. It turned out that she was Princess Chu Chu, the only daughter of the Prince of Jiangnan. Her territory in Jialin was the most prosperous, and whoever married her would achieve great success.
The Empress Dowager took a liking to Chu Chu, and Chu Chu was generous in her gestures, preparing precious gifts for the Empress Dowager and the princess. She pleaded with the Empress Dowager to choose her husband for her and expressed her interest in Rong Yu. Jiuling informed the Emperor about Rong Jiang's collusion with the Regent and, for the sake of the nation, decided to destroy the star map. Rong Jiang had mentioned that possessing the star map would give them a great advantage.
However, she asked the Emperor to grant her some more time before destroying the star map, as it would harm Rong Yu. She wanted to do something more for him. When Jiuling returned, she immediately went to the pharmacy to develop an antidote for Rong Yu. Upon hearing that Rong Yu had started playing the zither again, Rong Jiang advised him to look at the stars more, saying that he would soon be able to practice astrology as well.
Rong Yu asked his younger uncle to take care of himself because both Jiuling and Rong Yu were the most important people to him.
