Episode 7 recap: Jiu Ling took Rong Yu to Wuhua Mountain to detoxify. After waking up, Rong Yu became mentally disabled.

After being transferred to another temple, Rong Yu still did not wake up. When He Liang told He Jiu Ling about Rong Yu's situation, she fell into infinite guilt. At that time, her senior brother told her that the medicine was only cruel, how could Rong Yu not wake up after taking it? During the meal, Jiu Ling did not see her elder brother. He Liang only said that the elder brother was on official business at the Ministry of Punishments.

At this time, Elder Brother Shenzhou had already led people to storm Zhong Yonghou's mansion to take the lawbreakers who caused serious injuries in public disputes. Zhong Yonghou tried to stop Shenzhou from taking away his son, but Shenzhou had no room for negotiation or compromise. Zhong Yonghou could only watch helplessly as his son was taken away, and then had someone prepare horses to go to the palace himself to plead with the Empress Dowager.

After discussing with the imperial physician, both Rong Jiang and Rong Jiang felt Jiu Ling was the most suspicious. Rong Jiang also saw Rong Yu's divorce letter and understood the situation. Jiu Ling was saddened and told her father that she wanted to take Rong Yu to Wuhua Mountain to seek treatment from her teacher. So He Liang brought Jiu Ling to see Rong Jiang and told him Jiu Ling's teacher Xuantian Sanren was indeed a highly skilled physician.

However, Rong Jiang disagreed, believing that those who die in the fortune telling house must die there. Only he and Rong Yu were left of the Rong family, and they would have to rely on each other in the future. Before Jiu Ling could say more, Rong Jiang stopped her and said that with Jiu Ling caring so much about Rong Yu, Rong Yu was truly fortunate to have such a devoted wife.

Rong Jiang sent betrothal gifts for Jiu Ling through his men, puzzling Fei San very much. Given Rong Yu's current condition, Rong Jiang sending betrothal gifts now made no sense. However, He Liang sank into deep thought. In secret, Jiu Ling persuaded He Shan to agree to take Rong Yu to Wuhua Mountain for treatment.

But Rong Jiang soon found out and dispatched guards on fast horses to give chase. He Shan led the guards away on a detour while Jiu Ling carried Rong Yu deep into the dense forest. But Jiu Ling herself had not fully recovered and with Rong Yu still unconscious, she fell many times on the journey from exhaustion. Taking breaks as she walked, Jiu Ling was utterly exhausted. But she still told Rong Yu that she must take him to Wuhua Mountain to be healed.

It began to snow. Leaning on Rong Yu, Jiu Ling fell into a deep sleep. But Rong Yu gradually woke up. Jiu Ling found this out and began to feel relieved, but then noticed something was wrong with the way Rong Yu was looking at her.

Jiu Ling found lodging for the night at a farmer's house with Rong Yu. Seeing Rong Yu's dazed state, Jiu Ling realized that Rong Yu, the eldest young master of the prominent Rong family, had become a fool.

At home, Shenzhou was anxiously waiting to go out and search for Jiu Ling. However, He Liang found Jiu Ling's behavior very strange this time, as she was usually pestering him but now acted unusually calm. Rong Yu stuck closely to Jiu Ling and even needed her teachings to use chopsticks, but when Rong Yu learned to pick up the first piece of food, he fed it to Jiu Ling instead.

At night while sleeping, Rong Yu also stuck to Jiu Ling. Jiu Ling spoke to Rong Yu about how he used to be so handsome and desired by all the noble ladies, but now looked like this. She suddenly realized that since waking up, Rong Yu had not said a single word. But could he be mute? Jiu Ling urgently guided Rong Yu to speak, although he could only utter simple monosyllabic sentences, Jiu Ling was already greatly relieved - at least he had woken up, proving she was not too mistaken.

She told Rong Yu that as long as she, He Jiu Ling, was around, she would not let him go hungry or thirsty and would teach him to eat and drink. As long as they reached Wuhua Mountain and she begged her teacher to help cure the poison in his body, he would again be the dashing young master of the fortune telling house. In the middle of the night, Jiu Ling rolled all the blankets over herself but heard Rong Yu shivering behind her. Out of pity, she gave all the blankets to Rong Yu, but he carefully draped the blanket over Jiu Ling instead.

The next day, Rong Yu woke up earlier than Jiu Ling. He playfully drew circles on Jiu Ling's face. After Jiu Ling woke up, she asked him to put on his shoes. Rong Yu hurried to bring Jiu Ling's shoes, delighting Jiu Ling as she realized he now understood what she said. She tested him again by saying she was thirsty, and Rong Yu hastily brought her a cup. Jiu Ling was exceptionally surprised and happy.
