Episode 1 recap: Jiang Tian and Wu Jing Fang started sharing an apartment.
Jiang Tian was reassigned to the Suzhou branch because she obstructed someone's path to wealth. On the way to the airport, her boyfriend complained that even though both of them were in Beijing, it felt like Beijing was a large city and they were in a long-distance relationship. Now it had become a reality as Jiang Tian hurriedly headed to the airport without saying a word.
Wu Jing Fang's car was towed, and she was sitting inside when a passing traffic officer noticed her. The officer immediately asked her to get out of the car and gave her a lecture. Jiang Tian arrived at the new company for orientation but didn't have a workstation because nobody informed the company in advance. Jiang Tian spotted an empty seat and was about to take it when Hu De Xiang, the team lead, voluntarily offered her own computer.
Just as Hu De Xiang was about to leave, Jiang Tian called her and asked if she could stay a bit longer until Jiang Tian finished using the computer. After all, it was their first meeting, and Jiang Tian wanted to be cautious to avoid any important files being lost on the computer. Jiang Tian asked her to wait a moment and said she would take a taxi to send her back.
Suzhou was also Jiang Tian's hometown. She arrived on familiar streets, but the people she used to know had all changed. While Jiang Tian was walking, she was accidentally bumped into by a moving company, and her luggage accidentally hit Wu Jing Fang's new car. Jiang Tian asked her why she moved into her home, but Wu Jing Fang was completely focused on her new car and demanded compensation from Jiang Tian.
While the two were arguing, Jiang Tian's father arrived and informed her that he had rented the house to Wu Jing Fang. Jiang Tian wanted to terminate the contract and compensate Wu Jing Fang for breach of contract. Jiang Tian's father asked her to put herself in Wu Jing Fang's shoes and consider what she would do if she were kicked out.
Jiang Tian returned the security deposit and one month's rent, totaling ten thousand yuan, to Wu Jing Fang. Wu Jing Fang returned the money to Jiang Tian because she had taken a liking to the house and wanted to live there. They kept transferring money back and forth like this, and Jiang Tian assured her that it was okay because she had time to spend with her.
Jiang Tian sent a text message to her boyfriend, Fang Yuan Qing, asking if he had time to call her. Fang Yuan Qing replied that he would call her in the evening. Jiang Tian's father told her that the rental agreement was signed just yesterday, and if she had informed him earlier, the awkward situation today could have been avoided.
Jiang Tian thought her father urgently rented out the house because he needed money. Her father told her that Ms. Wu came all the way from Sichuan to rent their house, and they couldn't treat people that way. Jiang Tian's father told her that the matter was settled: if she was willing to live together, they would live together; if she wasn't, he would find her another place to stay. Jiang Tian declined and said she would stay at home.
Jiang Tian strolled through the alley and arrived at a shop. Coincidentally, the shop was owned by Wu Jing Fang's nephew and Jiang Tian's ex-boyfriend, Zhou Ye Wen. Zhou Ye Wen was trapped against the wall, and without lifting his head, he asked the beauty if she could help him down. Just as he finished speaking, he saw that the person approaching was Jiang Tian.
Jiang Tian was stunned for a few seconds and then walked away, leaving Zhou Ye Wen hanging on the wall alone. Fortunately, Jiang Tian's father, who happened to be there to eat, recognized Zhou Ye Wen and loudly called him "Uncle Jiang," asking him to help him down from the wall. While the two were chatting, Zhou Ye Wen learned that Uncle Jiang's daughter was Jiang Tian. He froze and started daydreaming, not hearing what Uncle Jiang was saying.
Wu Jing Fang transferred the ten thousand yuan back to Jiang Tian, and she would stay here. Jiang Tian's personal belongings were taken back because the logistics company couldn't reach her. She took out her old clothes and planned to wash and wear them. Wu Jing Fang offered her own clothes, but Jiang Tian refused.
Looking at her wrinkled clothes, Jiang Tian finally accepted Wu Jing Fang's pajamas. The next morning, Wu Jing Fang woke up early and made breakfast, disturbing Jiang Tian's sleep. Wu Jing Fang went out in the morning to look for a job and happened to meet Zhou Ye Wen. Zhou Ye Wen playfully jumped and gave a thumbs-up to encourage his aunt.
Wu Jing Fang went for many job interviews, but she was rejected because of her age of sixty. Suddenly, she received a phone call inviting her for an interview, but it also ended unsuccessfully due to her age.
Someone said that the encounter between Jiang Tian and Ms. Wu was very unreasonable. Put yourself in Jiang Tian's shoes for a moment. Imagine coming home and finding a car continuously unloading things in front of your house.
Would you confront the person and argue through the narrow gap that you could easily pass through, or would you take a detour? If people claim that Jiang Tian was impolite and had a bad attitude towards Ms. Wu, why does she refuse to address the issue of why she was moving things into someone else's house?
Is that considered normal? She kept insisting that her car was scratched, and even after Jiang Tian apologized as she requested and agreed to compensate her, she still avoided the issue of moving out and clung to the car scratching problem.
Is that justified? In the first twenty minutes, I really didn't see any impoliteness or unreasonable behavior from Jiang Tian. From Jiang Tian's perspective, it seems like Ms. Wu is being a bit of a troublemaker.
Jiang Tian refused to rent the house to her due to a breach of contract, yet she stubbornly refuses to move out. I truly cannot see her as a kind old lady.
