Episode 23 recap: Jiang Tian sensed that something was wrong with Jia Qian.
Jiang Tian arrived at Jia Qian's factory and asked the workers where Jia Qian was. Upon seeing her, the worker prepared to leave, but Jiang Tian grabbed hold of him. The worker mentioned that Jia Qian had gone to find the factory manager as he owed him money. Jiang Tian went to find Wu Jing Fang and asked why she had come. Jiang Tian replied that if she hadn't come, she wouldn't have known that Jia Qian had been deceiving people all along.
Jiang Tian was questioning Wu Jing Fang about what she had learned in the past few days when Jia Qian called her. Wu Jing Fang hung up the call, and Jiang Tian asked her to open WeChat and check the knowledge points she had sent. However, Wu Jing Fang couldn't open it, and Jiang Tian realized that she had never opened it before.
Jiang Tian couldn't understand what Wu Jing Fang had been busy with day and night for the past few days. Wu Jing Fang told her that she had been keeping an eye on the furniture at the Li family's house. Jiang Tian felt that even so, there was no need to spend twenty-four hours a day at the furniture factory. Wu Jing Fang had nothing to say in response.
Jiang Tian sent the knowledge points to Wu Jing Fang again, and she printed them out. She went to Zhou Ye Wen's store to vent her frustration and felt relieved afterward. She wished she had the ability to clone herself, but when Zhou Ye Wen asked her what happened, Wu Jing Fang refused to tell him.

Wu Jing Fang asked him why he was so happy if he had sold the house, but was drinking himself into such a state. Jia Qian finally burst into tears, explaining that he had saved money for ten years for that house, and now it was gone. He questioned the meaning of the past few years of his life. Wu Jing Fang told him that life wasn't easy for anyone and that as a grown man, he shouldn't be crying over something so small.
Jiang Tian asked Uncle Chen if he had seen Wu Jing Fang. Uncle Chen informed her that he saw Wu Jing Fang hurriedly leaving early in the morning. Wu Jing Fang gave Jia Qian a good scolding, and he gathered himself and went to find Mr. Ji. Jia Qian told Mr. Ji that he would repay the remaining money in three months, but Mr. Ji no longer believed him.
Wu Jing Fang suggested that they could sign a contract where if Jia Qian failed to repay the money after three months, Mr. Ji could seek legal means to resolve the issue. Wu Jing Fang thought that Mr. Ji's wood was just gathering dust in the factory, but for Jia Qian, it was a lifesaver.
Mr. Ji considered the proposal but insisted on having a third-party guarantee. Xiao Jin offered to be the guarantor, but Mr. Ji disagreed, considering Xiao Jin to be Jia Qian's financial person. Wu Jing Fang volunteered to be the guarantor instead. Jiang Tian arrived at Jia Qian's furniture factory and learned that he had accumulated a significant amount of debt. She felt that Jia Qian was no longer capable of making the furniture and suggested terminating the contract early.
Jia Qian assured her that he had resolved the issue and could start working now. Wu Jing Fang also chimed in to support Jia Qian. Only then did Jiang Tian agree and told Jia Qian not to delay the furniture delivery. As Jiang Tian walked to the door with an ice cream stick, she noticed Zhou Ye Wen and saw that his face was slightly swollen.
She asked Zhou Ye Wen if he had another toothache, but Zhou Ye Wen replied that he couldn't have tooth decay at his age; it was just baby fat, which was cute. Jiang Tian told him to eat the ice cream stick without changing his expression, and she would believe him. Jiang Tian remembered back in high school when she accompanied Zhou Ye Wen to the hospital for a toothache.
This time, Jiang Tian accompanied him to the hospital again. While they were having a meal together, Jiang Tian confessed to Zhou Ye Wen that she had gotten angry at Wu Jing Fang once again. Jiang Tian felt that Wu Jing Fang had no intention of studying. Zhou Ye Wen asked her to wait, as his aunt might not have found motivation yet.
Wu Jing Fang went to take her second driving exam, and her instructor nervously watched from the monitoring room. Unexpectedly, Wu Jing Fang passed the exam. Jiang Tian brought a gift to Zhu Zhu's house, and Wu Jing Fang quickly followed. Wu Jing Fang asked Jiang Tian what gift she had bought, and when Jiang Tian opened it, Wu Jing Fang told her they had bought the same thing.
I feel that Wu Jing Fang isn't really passionate about her job as a designer. She doesn't enjoy delving into the business and feels pressured by the assignments given by Jiang Tian instead of genuinely seeking them out. She enjoys helping others solve problems and seeks validation from others.
She relies on Jiang Tian, hoping to achieve immediate success and prove her own abilities.
I watched the whole series three times, but the more I watched, the more confused I became about what they were trying to portray. At first, I thought Wang Zi Wen was the female lead, but later I realized that Deng A-yi was the female lead. The earlier setup was all about being an assistant, but then suddenly Wu A-yi also wants to become a designer.
The theme got lost. The female lead goes through twists and turns no matter what she does, and it's all thanks to the assistant that she succeeds. It's not very realistic. Does that mean she wouldn't be able to accomplish anything without this assistant-turned-designer?
