Episode 36 recap: Zhou Ye Wen saw Jiang Tian's diary.
Jiang Tian encountered a young client who told them that they didn't actually seek their services because they liked them. It was because they had messed up their house, and the child also wanted their own house to be ruined. Jiang Tian hoped the client could increase their budget, but the client told them it was impossible.
Suddenly, Zhou Ye Wen embraced Jiang Tian from behind, startling them. Jiang Tian asked why Zhou Ye Wen had returned earlier than expected, and Zhou Ye Wen said it was a surprise. However, Jiang Tian felt more scared than surprised, and Zhou Ye Wen remarked that they didn't understand the concept of surprises.
The two of them sat on the steps, enjoying ice pops. Jiang Tian asked Zhou Ye Wen what they would do if their store went out of business. Zhou Ye Wen jokingly replied that it would be fine because Jiang Tian could support them, and they could experience what it's like to live off someone else. An elderly lady went to the bank to transfer 160,000 yuan and asked Lin Xiao Xiao for help. However, upon seeing her text messages, Lin Xiao Xiao realized she was being scammed and refused to assist with the transaction.
Lin Xiao Xiao's supervisor called her into the office, and she asked if she was being complained about. The supervisor confirmed it but surprised her by praising her instead. He explained that if it wasn't for Lin Xiao Xiao, the elderly lady would have lost all her money.
The supervisor inquired about Lin Xiao Xiao's intention to resign. She revealed that her parents arranged this job for her, and she never liked it. Now that she's thirty years old, she wants to pursue things she enjoys. The supervisor sensed her resistance stemmed from her parents' influence in her career choice.
The supervisor assured Lin Xiao Xiao that her job was not solely because of her parents but her own efforts. On the other hand, Jiang Tian and Wu Jing Fang went to see Yifan with their well-designed plans, only to discover that he was sick. They rushed him to the hospital as it turned out he had gastroenteritis from eating spoiled kiwi.
Wu Jing Fang asked why he ate spoiled food, and Yifan explained that he had never eaten it before, so he didn't know it had gone bad. Wu Jing Fang promised to buy him fresh ones once he recovered.
They were ready to show Yifan the design plans, but he kept finding various excuses to avoid it. Jiang Tian noticed Yifan's interest in wood carving and took him to Jia Qian's factory to try it out.
Jiang Tian, Wu Jing Fang, and Yifan went out for a meal, and it was only then that Yifan expressed his desire to see his own design plans. After looking at them, Yifan asked where his own mother lived. They told him that his mother had said she wanted to fulfill his living space as much as possible. Yifan told Jiang Tian that their decision to hire them for renovation wasn't because they liked them, but because he had seen online that they had messed up a house before.
If they had ruined their own house, his mother wouldn't have renovated his home either. Jiang Tian realized what he meant and told Yifan that she could also design a place for his mother to live. Yifan also felt that the two of them were not as the internet had portrayed them.
Zhou Ye Wen and Zheng Qian wanted to transform their decompression center into a combined decompression and therapy bath. They hired professionals to run the shop.
Jiang Tian started packing her things, preparing to move out. When Zhou Ye Wen came to help her pack, he discovered her diary. After reading it, he realized that Jiang Tian had been the one who liked him first. Jiang Tian noticed him reading and tried to snatch the diary back. Due to height reasons, Zhou Ye Wen prevailed and told Jiang Tian that he confiscated the notebook.
Wu Jing Fang, as the lead designer for the first time, presented her proposal to the leaders of the charity foundation. After she finished her presentation, the leaders expressed their satisfaction with their design, but the budget exceeded their limits.
The foundation wanted to help more children, with each child's budget set at 50,000 yuan. If they allocated 80,000 yuan to Yifan, would that mean one child would miss out on assistance? Jiang Tian told them that this opportunity was already incomplete for Yifan. He initially disagreed with the renovation because his mother wanted to get rid of the old furniture, which would make Yifan feel like he grew up alone.
After listening, the leaders still told them they couldn't increase the budget. They couldn't set a precedent because if they agreed this time, more people would expect budget increases in the future. Jiang Tian informed Yifan's mother about this, and she told them not to change the design. She could contribute 20,000 yuan on her own.
