Episode 1 recap: Lu Jiang sees the eyes he has been searching for.

Today is the day Xu Jia Yin (played by Zhao Yi Han) returns to her home country. The thought of seeing her family fills Xu Jia Yin with joy. However, when she arrives at her home located in the wealthy district, she is shocked by the scene inside. The Xu family's house is in chaos, with no one around. Expensive furniture lies shattered, and the walls are covered in the words "go die."

Xu Jia Yin tries calling her parents, but there is no response. She immediately contacts the police. Xiao Zhi (played by Zhang Xi Lin), the captain of the police force, receives the call and rushes to the Xu family's residence. At the same time, he contacts Lu Jiang (played by Fu Da Long).

Lu Jiang, who has just landed, hurries to the Xu family's home. Luckily, his car is parked at the airport, so he arrives on time. Upon entering the house, Lu Jiang realizes that something is peculiar. He laments the damage done to the high-end items while investigating the scene. Eventually, he concludes that the destruction in the Xu family is the result of their own actions.

Confused, Xiao Zhi asks for an explanation. Lu Jiang points out that the Xu family is wealthy but lacks a matching set of furniture. The mishmash of various styles suggests that they frequently change their furniture. Xu Jia Yin scoffs at Lu Jiang's words and immediately complains to Xu Ke Ji when he appears. Xu Ke Ji demands an explanation from Lu Jiang, who elaborates on the traces of destruction in the house. He explains that it is a typical way for women to vent their frustrations, and the undamaged curtains indicate a lack of security. The extent of the damage in Xu Jia Yin's room upstairs suggests that the mistress redirects her anger towards her daughter due to excessive care from Xu Ke Ji. On the other hand, the son's room shows minimal damage, indicating a strong emotional bond with the mistress. Otherwise, the fragile model aircraft would not be intact.

Yan Qingqing and Xu Mai rush back to the Xu family's home. They are taken aback by the wreckage and have flashes of their own destructive actions in their minds. This leaves them feeling somewhat bewildered. When Lu Jiang sees Yan Qingqing, it triggers his own memories. He confirms the mole on the corner of Yan Qingqing's eye, which matches his recollection. This leaves him somewhat disoriented, and he abruptly leaves the Xu family, citing lack of rest for the past two days.

Xu Ke Ji takes Yan Qingqing, Xu Mai, and Xu Jia Yin out for a meal. Observing Yan Qingqing's expression, he feels that she is not suitable to stay in the villa and asks Xu Mai to accompany his wife back to the city.

That evening, Yan Qingqing was alone at home. She took out a bottle of wine and looked at the photos on the table. Unable to control herself, she picked up a sharp knife next to her, intending to slash at the photos. But she quickly realized that she couldn't continue behaving like that and put down the knife, pouring herself a glass of wine.

Lu Jiang remembered eight years ago when his mother had a sudden stomach bleeding, which wasn't considered a major illness. However, his mother passed away unexpectedly because of it. Lu Shan, Lu Jiang's older brother, recalls seeing a woman wearing a white scarf in the hallway of the hospital when their mother was critically ill. The woman had a mole on her eye, and Lu Shan had a strong intuition that she was somehow related to their mother's condition. For years, Lu Shan and Lu Jiang had been trying to sketch the woman's face, and eventually, they drew eyes similar to Yan Qingqing's.

Eight years had passed, and the case had made no progress. Lu Shan and Lu Jiang decided to let go of the past and live their lives. However, Lu Shan accidentally saw the owner of the eyes from their sketchbook. He secretly took a photo of Yan Qingqing but was caught in the act by Xu Jia Yin. Xu Jia Yin persisted and attracted the attention of the crowd. At that moment, undercover narcotics officer Dai Zhi Yong revealed his police identity and apprehended Lu Shan. Lu Jiang tried to help his brother out of the situation by revealing his police identity, but unfortunately, he hadn't brought his identification with him that day and was taken to the police station.

Upon learning that Lu Jiang suspected her mother of killing his own mother, Xu Jia Yin demanded evidence from him. Lu Jiang explained that he didn't have any evidence and that it was only a suspicion, which was why he hadn't taken any action. This left Xu Jia Yin dissatisfied. She watched as Lu Jiang deleted the photos from his phone and demanded an explanation. However, Lu Jiang had an urgent matter to attend to that day. He had only taken a two-hour leave, and when the time was up, he hurriedly went to the meeting.

The police received intelligence from an undercover informant that a major drug lord known as "Fei Ying" planned to smuggle drugs into the country. The Public Security Bureau devised a plan to capture Fei Ying in one fell swoop. Dai Zhi Yong advocated for tight surveillance of the drug trafficking vehicle by land, sea, and air, but Lu Jiang disagreed. Firstly, they lacked manpower, and secondly, he was concerned that too many people knowing about the operation would lead to leaks. Moreover, the fact that Fei Ying dared to enter the country despite knowing that the information had leaked showed his level of confidence, which irked Dai Zhi Yong.
