Episode 12 recap: Xu Jia Yin became a subordinate of Lu Jiang.

Dai Zhi Yong interrogated Xu Mai for twenty-four hours but couldn't find any other clues on him. When the time was up, he had to release him. Yan Qing Qing, seeing that Dai Zhi Yong was looking for trouble, became very angry and spread the story through a hotline, portraying Lu Jiang as intentionally persecuting Xu Mai to protect the family business.

After learning about this, Lu Jiang felt somewhat depressed. He and Wei Hong Jun both knew that Dai Zhi Yong was unwilling to share the case information. They decided to form a joint investigation team, but Dai Zhi Yong couldn't be a part of it. Xiao Zhi, upon hearing Lu Jiang's plan, didn't object and asked Lu Jiang to prepare a list for him.

The timing of Xu Jia Yin's transfer to the Anti-Drug Brigade was too coincidental. Lu Jiang initially didn't want her to go, but Xiao Zhi was worried that any sudden changes might alert the enemy, so he decided to let Xu Jia Yin report to the Anti-Drug Brigade first and then find a suitable reason for Lu Jiang to transfer her elsewhere.

Recently, Lu Jiang studied Xu Ke Ji's business methods and discovered that he followed a path of extortion and profiteering, solely driven by personal gain. Xu Mai was likely to become a sacrifice. Xiao Zhi sighed, saying that a tiger wouldn't even eat its own cubs, yet Xu Ke Ji's actions were even worse than those of a beast.

Exhausted, Lu Jiang returned to his own home in Linjiang. After a busy night, he finally fell asleep on the couch. In the early morning, Lu Shan returned with breakfast and woke Lu Jiang up to eat. Lu Shan learned that Pan Yue Yang hadn't woken up yet and deeply regretted his impulsiveness. He hoped his mother hadn't been killed, but Gong Qi's eyes made him suspicious.

Lu Jiang was transferred to Linjiang for an estimated stay of one to two years. Lu Shan advised him to live at the Pan family's house, but Lu Jiang declined, citing inconvenience. He also urged Lu Shan to talk to Su Pan and not to worry too much about Pan Yue Yang. Dai Zhi Yong purposely blocked Su Pan at the entrance of the Pan family's house, wanting to find out if Xu Mai had been there on the night of the 6th. Su Pan didn't want any involvement with Dai Zhi Yong and claimed not to know anything.

Dai Zhi Yong couldn't help but call Su Pan "Ying Ying" during their confrontation, which triggered Su Pan to recall the moment she was forcefully taken away. The resentment in her heart made her turn around and warn Dai Zhi Yong not to mistake her for Ying Ying; she was just Su Pan.

Dai Zhi Yong watched as Su Pan resolutely drove away, feeling distressed, but he couldn't force Su Pan to admit her identity as his sister.

Commissioner He specially accompanied Lu Jiang to the Anti-Drug Brigade today and announced that Lu Jiang would be in charge of the case operations, while Dai Zhi Yong would be responsible for team building, hoping that the two would cooperate sincerely.

Xu Jia Yin arrived at the Anti-Drug Brigade in her car to report for duty. Everything seemed fascinating to her. Wu Yi Dong saw Xu Jia Yin at the entrance and was captivated by her beauty. He immediately put aside his work and took Xu Jia Yin inside. Xu Jia Yin was happy to learn that Lu Jiang was her team leader. Her strength was English, but Lu Jiang assigned her to the evidence room, a position where she couldn't utilize her expertise. She proposed to be assigned to another position. Lu Jiang took the opportunity to suggest sending Xu Jia Yin to work elsewhere, but Xu Jia Yin was delighted to work with Lu Jiang and refused his proposal, obediently following Lu Jiang's instructions to go get her uniform and prepare for duty.

The Linjiang Branch specially held a meeting to welcome Lu Jiang's arrival.
