Episode 5 recap: Xu Ke Ji's other home drives Yan Qing Qing crazy.
Xu Ke Ji sees Xu Mai sitting calmly in the company, not bothered at all. He believes Xu Mai is being dragged down by Su Pan, which led to suspicions of him poisoning Lu Shan's home. Xu Ke Ji thinks Xu Mai is a fool, easily manipulated by Su Pan. Xu Mai switches to mocking mode, stating that he relentlessly pursued Su Pan, and it was only because Su Pan disagreed that they agreed to meet in such a distant place. Whenever Su Pan pays attention to him, he feels extremely happy.
Unable to stand Xu Mai's lack of dignity, Xu Ke Ji immediately wants him to leave. Xu Mai then demands that Xu Ke Ji give him and his mother their share of the property. This angers Xu Ke Ji even more, but before he can explode, Xu Mai reveals that Xu Ke Ji had two children with a woman while abroad, and those children were given names that match the Pengfei Group.
Xu Ke Ji's face changes, and he wants to explain, but at that moment, Lu Shan storms into the office with a golf club in hand, ready to attack. Xu Ke Ji disregards the danger and protects Xu Mai, proving that he cares more than Xu Mai thinks. Lu Shan pretended to be a deliveryman and carried the golf club to enter Xu Ke Ji's company, causing harm and getting arrested. After hearing the news, Pan Yue Yang rushes to find Lu Jiang, which greatly troubles Lu Jiang but forces him to handle the situation.
The police see Lu Jiang and bluntly state that it is a fact that Lu Shan caused harm. Unless Xu Ke Ji doesn't press charges, Lu Shan will face punishment. After completing the examination of his injuries at the hospital, Xu Ke Ji directly hands the report to Xu Mai and asks him to handle it. Xu Mai, who is eager to see Su Pan, uses the report as a condition to make Lu Jiang reveal Su Pan's whereabouts.
Lu Jiang doesn't like using Su Pan as a bargaining chip. Besides, he doesn't know where Su Pan is or who she meets. After all, it is Su Pan's legal right. Unable to extract any useful information, Xu Mai simply gives the injury report to Lu Jiang. Just released from the police station, Lu Shan immediately rushes to find Su Pan, despite Lu Jiang's repeated assurances that Su Pan will be fine. Concerned, Lu Shan sets off to find someone directly.
Knowing that this could lead to more trouble, Lu Jiang hurries to find Su Pan. As expected, Su Pan is in that house, and the door isn't even locked, as if she knew he would come.
Lu Jiang mentioned Lu Shan's recent actions, explaining that Lu Shan's heart is all about Su Pan, and Xu Mai is not that bad either. Lu Jiang wants to know what Su Pan really thinks, and if she loves Xu Mai, he can help reconcile them.
Xu Jia Yin waited in a coffee shop and finally caught Gong Qi. She quickly took a few photos when Gong Qi was approaching from a distance. When Gong Qi entered the coffee shop, she wanted to take a clearer close-up photo, but Gong Qi happened to turn his head, so Xu Jia Yin had to give up.
Su Pan used to worry that Pan Yue Yang and Xu Ke Ji couldn't get along. But she learned from Lu Jiang that Pan Yue Yang knew early on that one person couldn't earn all the money, and that ultimately, a company serves society. So she let go of her worries and felt tired of guarding the company. She hoped Lu Jiang could come back and help.

Now that he had such a big case on his hands, he wanted to close it and put a perfect end to his police career before leaving. Xu Mai took the initiative to visit the Xu family's house. He wanted to clarify the grudges between the Xu and Pan families. Only the scars remained, so the two families had no further interaction.
Xu Mai publicly announced that he had resigned from all positions in Pengyi Group and handed over all his projects. He wholeheartedly wanted to pursue Su Pan. At this moment, Lu Gao Yuan suddenly announced that Lu Jiang and Su Pan would have an engagement ceremony on Saturday. Lu Shan, who had always admired Su Pan, erupted upon hearing this news. However, Pan Yue Yang still decided to proceed with the engagement ceremony as scheduled. Lu Jiang, who was unaware of the situation, felt surprised and sensed something was wrong. Xu Mai, on the other hand, made a promise to Su Pan that he would wait for her as long as she didn't get married.
When Xu Mai returned home, he found that Yan Qing Qing was not there. He quickly called her, but Yan Qing Qing's phone was at home. Xu Mai immediately became anxious and went out to look for her. Meanwhile, Yan Qing Qing had already returned to the Xu family's villa and happened to overhear Xu Ke Ji talking on the phone with a woman overseas, planning to go back to attend their son's 20th birthday.
Yan Qing Qing was immediately provoked and picked up an ashtray to strike Xu Ke Ji, then tightly grabbed his neck. Lu Jiang and Pan Yue Yang coincidentally arrived at Xu's house and witnessed the incident. They immediately stopped Yan Qing Qing's actions, and Lu Jiang noticed that the woman in the video resembled Yan Qing Qing.
