Episode 16 recap: The Tears of Blood Water Monster mission begins.
After completing Jiang Li's game mission, Xiaopangya gave her three extra lives in the game. However, even with that, she couldn't feel happy. She felt that this stupid game was too melancholic. She wanted to end the game, but she hesitated because of Shen Xiuning. Li Canglang blamed himself for Wanwan's death. After burying Wanwan, he spent his days drowning his sorrows in alcohol.
Jiang Li's game mission was completed, and Xiaopangya gave her three extra lives in the game. However, even so, she couldn't find joy in it. She felt that this lousy game was too emotionally draining. She wanted to end the game but couldn't bear to leave Shen Xiuning. Li Canglang blamed himself deeply for Wanwan's death. After burying Wanwan, he resorted to drowning his sorrows in alcohol all day long. Shen Xiuning didn't know how to console him. She wanted to accompany him in drinking, but he pushed her away.
Jiang Li went to find Shen Xiuning and saw him pouring and drinking by himself. She decided to join him and have a drink together. Both of them ended up drinking too much and, under the influence of alcohol, they poured out their innermost feelings. With passion and desire in the air, they shared a passionate kiss, and Jiang Li ended up staying overnight in Shen Xiuning's room... The next morning, Jiang Li, still wanting more, discovered that Shen Xiuning was nowhere to be found. She suspected that Xiaopangya had something to do with it, so she confronted her. Xiaopangya then gave her another mainline mission and explicitly stated that after completing this mission, she could return to the real world.
Following the mission requirements, Jiang Li ventured alone to Shen Xiuning's hometown, Shen Family Village. As she entered the village, she heard someone shouting for help from a pond at the village entrance. Curious, Jiang Li approached, but as soon as she reached the edge of the pond, she was pulled into the water by the creature crying for help. After sacrificing one of her game lives, Jiang Li received a system prompt congratulating her on initiating the mainline mission: Tears of Blood Water Monster.
