Episode 13 recap: Hua Shen was imprisoned while Hua Qian sought the truth.

When Hua Qian arrived, she saw Mu Yao hiding nearby while Hua Shen was in a dazed state. When Zhong Ye Lan approached, Mu Yao immediately put on a submissive act. Hua Shen was awakened by Hua Qian, but he still didn't understand the situation.Hua Qian felt that something was suspicious about the whole incident. Zhong Ye Lan was furious and swung his sword towards Hua Shen. Hua Qian tried to intervene but was pushed aside and got her hand cut. Despite her injured hand, Hua Qian hurriedly went to explain to Zhong Ye Lan. Hua Rong Zhou attempted to stop them but was knocked down.

At that moment, Hua Rong Zhou had his sword pointed at Hua Qian. However, Zhong Xi Wu stepped in front of Zhong Ye Lan, hoping to calm him down. When Zhong Ye Lan saw Zhong Xi Wu approaching, he released his grip.

Zhong Xi Wu believed that the matter needed to be investigated thoroughly. Zhong Ye Lan left with Mu Yao, and Hua Qian noticed the sinister look in Mu Yao's eyes, realizing that something extraordinary was happening. With her injured hand, Zhong Xi Wu instructed Hua Qian to rest while he handled the affairs in the main hall.

Soon after, Hua Shen was taken away. Zhong Xi Wu noticed Hua Qian's injured hand and had his subordinate bring over a healing ointment. Hua Qian's hand was injured by shattered porcelain, and many fragments had embedded in her skin. After finishing his tasks, Zhong Xi Wu came to help Hua Qian bandage her wound, while Hua Rong Zhou, who had initially brought the ointment, left upon seeing Zhong Xi Wu's presence.

Hua Qian deliberately questioned why Zhong Xi Wu was helping her, and Zhong Xi Wu's excuse was that Hua Qian had kept his secret. When Qian Zhi returned, she quickly informed Hua Qian of the situation. Worried about Hua Rong Zhou's injury, Hua Qian asked her maid, Cui Zhu, to go and check on him.

Hua Qian believed that Zhong Xi Wu treated her differently because she knew his secret. Her mother was also concerned that this matter would affect her brother. Hua Qian assured her mother that she would handle the situation. Without resting, Hua Qian hurriedly went to the prison to visit her brother and inquire about the situation. Hua Shen claimed that he had drunk too much and then saw an attractive female messenger, so he followed her and was suddenly knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he saw Hua Qian.

Hua Qian didn't even believe what her brother said and warned him to remember everything while he was there.

After Hua Qian came out, her mother immediately began questioning her. Hua Qian informed her mother of the situation, but her mother, who always doted on her son, was in a distressed state. When Cui Zhu returned, she told Hua Qian about her visit to Hua Shen that day, and Hua Qian suddenly felt that something was off about Cui Zhu.

The next day, Hua Qian prepared to visit Mu Yao, but she was stopped at the door. However, Hua Qian insisted on sending someone to deliver a message, and sure enough, Mu Yao agreed to see her. Afterward, only Hua Qian and Mu Yao remained. Hua Qian made it clear that she wouldn't compete with Mu Yao for Zhong Ye Lan and that she knew her brother had been framed. She assured Mu Yao that she wouldn't feel guilty towards him.

Hua Qian said that her brother would never lie to her, and Mu Yao admitted that it was her plan. Mu Yao revealed that the female messenger who committed suicide at Hua Shen's residence was Linglong, her personal maid. Linglong was Mu Yao's most trusted maid, and it suddenly dawned on Hua Qian. Mu Yao took out the hairpin she had given to Linglong. Mu Yao couldn't believe that Linglong had been mistreated by Hua Shen to such an extent, and she was unwilling to compromise even at the cost of her life.

Mu Yao also mentioned that she had initially believed Hua Qian wouldn't target her, but it had turned out like this. Mu Yao wanted revenge for Linglong, and she intended to make Hua Shen pay a heavy price. Hua Qian had nothing to say and could only leave. At that moment, Zhong Ye Lan arrived, and Hua Qian asked him what would have happened if Zhong Xi Wu hadn't intervened, implying that the sword would have fallen on her.

Hua Qian questioned whether someone who had deceived others could never be forgiven. Zhong Ye Lan remained cold and indifferent towards Hua Qian, which disappointed her. After all, she had wholeheartedly wanted to be a good person, but she was still regarded as a villain.

Later, Mu Yao asked Hua Qian how she planned to handle the situation with Hua Shen. Mu Yao told her to decide for herself, and Zhong Ye Lan reluctantly suggested keeping him suppressed for now. Mu Yao couldn't help but shed tears as she thought about the happy times she had with Linglong.
