Scent of Time ep 22 recap/spoilers

Episode 22 recap: Hua Rong Zhou was publicly accused of murder on the street.

Hua Qian deliberately asked Miss Meng, Zhong Xi Wu, what she liked to eat, and Zhong Xi Wu was very knowledgeable and told Hua Qian everything. Zhong Xi Wu had planned to rest but was surprised to learn that Hua Qian hurriedly went to her room after she arrived. Zhong Xi Wu told Hua Qian that although she liked sweets, she was allergic to honey. She almost lost her life as a child due to mistakenly consuming honey. Hua Qian thought about what Zhong Xi Wu said and concluded that there were developments in the assassination of his elder brother.

Zhong Xi Wu seemed to already know about these matters and asked Hua Qian to leave it to her to handle. However, Hua Qian would not easily let the culprit who killed his brother off the hook. Afterwards, Hua Qian took Hua Rong Zhou to the street to buy candied chestnuts. Hua Rong Zhou even took the effort to peel the chestnuts for Hua Qian.

However, at that moment, a pair of siblings approached and accused Hua Rong Zhou of killing their father. Hua Rong Zhou intended to retaliate, but Hua Qian stopped him. Hua Rong Zhou told Hua Qian that he did not harm their father but admitted to having killed someone before. Just then, Wang Xian Ling arrived and wanted to take Hua Rong Zhou away. Naturally, Hua Qian wouldn't easily let his family member be taken away. Zhong Xi Wu, who was on the side, saw everything and went over to pull Hua Qian aside. Hua Qian tried to defend Hua Rong Zhou, claiming he was being wrongly accused, but Zhong Xi Wu stated that Hua Rong Zhou's surname wasn't Hua.

Zhong Xi Wu's bodyguard handed a letter to Hua Qian. In fact, Hua Rong Zhou's original surname was Qi. Zhong Xi Wu explained that she was concerned that he had ulterior motives, so she investigated him. Furthermore, Hua Rong Zhou was responsible for more than one life. He had killed several people when he was only 11 years old. Zhong Xi Wu said she was worried that Hua Rong Zhou would harm Hua Qian, but Hua Qian was still struggling to digest this information.

Before Zhong Xi Wu sent Hua Qian back home, she offered to give her bodyguard to Hua Qian, but Hua Qian refused. When she returned home, her father was very worried about her situation. After all, the incident where Hua Rong Zhou was taken away in public had caused quite a stir. Cui Zhu quickly came over and pleaded with Hua Qian to save Hua Rong Zhou.

Hua Qian looked at the bracelet that Hua Rong Zhou had given her and dropped it on the ground due to her shaky hands. Mu Yao sent a letter, and when Hua Qian saw its contents, she cried and smiled at the same time.

Hua Qian couldn't understand why everything was interconnected, and she told Qian Zhi to throw Wu Shuo Mo out that evening. While Wu Shuo Mo was still in the firewood room, Hua Qian's father came over, and he suddenly realized that it was all because of Hua Qian's father's cell phone number. Hua Qian's father also told him to leave and not to provoke his daughter anymore. Before leaving, Wu Shuo Mo went to Hua Qian's room and apologized to her, hoping that this matter wouldn't involve Mu Yao.

Hua Qian also mentioned that Wu Shuo Mo owed her a big favor, and one day she would ask him to repay it. After coming out, Wu Shuo Mo looked at Mu Yao's hairpin and thought about everything that happened between them. In the end, he still couldn't bear to let go of Mu Yao.

Wu Shuo Mo went to Mu Yao's room and planned to apologize to her tomorrow. In order to make Mu Yao not feel guilty, he even said that he realized he didn't actually like her that much. Then he left the hairpin by the window and departed. Hua Qian was still wondering why her father and Wu Shuo Mo had no connection in their previous life, but this time it seemed like they had a secret.

Cui Zhu took the initiative to apologize in order to save Hua Rong Zhou. Because she liked Hua Rong Zhou, she had done many things to frame Hua Shen. Hua Qian asked Cui Zhu to accompany her to the prison. When Hua Qian arrived at the prison and saw Hua Rong Zhou covered in injuries, she had many questions in her mind. Hua Rong Zhou still wanted to keep his secret hidden and told Hua Qian.

Hua Rong Zhou said he was born in the countryside and his mother worked hard at home since he was a child. However, when he was five years old, his mother passed away due to overwork. His father was just a poor scholar, and after his mother's death, his father took her money and left. In order to prevent his son from starving, his father sent him to a wealthy merchant's house.
