Episode 29 recap: Zhong Xi Wu and Hua Qian reunite after a long separation.

Hua Qian can tell that Yun Niang is skilled in martial arts. Yun Niang reveals that she was once married, but her life didn't go well. She was bullied by her husband's concubine and later abandoned by both her husband's family and her own family. Hua Qian comforts Yun Niang, and at that moment, their neighbor brings a lantern. Seeing the lantern, Hua Qian is reminded of Hua Rong Zhou and suddenly feels discomfort in her chest. Yun Niang suggests seeing a doctor, but Hua Qian declines, considering it a minor issue.

Hua Qian proceeds to release the lantern and a smile appears on her lips. Now, Hua Rong Zhou has successfully defeated the guards around Zhong Xi Wu and finally has access to the study. Holding a sword, Hua Rong Zhou threatens Zhong Xi Wu, demanding to know where Hua Qian is hiding. However, Zhong Xi Wu remains silent. Realizing this, Hua Rong Zhou decides not to kill Zhong Xi Wu; his sole objective is to find Hua Qian.

Hua Rong Zhou doesn't believe that Hua Qian is dead. Zhong Xi Wu secretly envies Hua Rong Zhou because he can pursue what he wants, while Zhong Xi Wu cannot. Zhong Xi Wu eventually reveals Hua Qian's location to Hua Rong Zhou because he knows that only Hua Rong Zhou can protect her now.

Afterward, Zhong Xi Wu burns all the letters related to Hua Qian. Every move Hua Qian makes in Jiangnan is being recorded, and this is Zhong Xi Wu's way of yearning for her, although Hua Qian is unaware of it.

The Eldest Princess compliments Li Supervisor's daughter, noting her cleverness. Zhong Xi Wu rarely hears her mother praise other girls. Zhong Xi Wu asks her mother to arrange the matter of becoming the main wife and plans to send Hua Rong Zhou away. The Eldest Princess appears happy on the surface, but she is still worried about her son's situation, knowing that Zhong Xi Wu's heart belongs only to Hua Qian.

Later, they withdraw the guards stationed at the Hua residence. It's time for them to rest. The doctor initially expects Hua Rong Zhou to come for a medical visit on the fifth day, but after waiting for a long time, he finds it strange that Hua Rong Zhou hasn't shown up. The next morning arrives while the doctor is still waiting.

Hua Qian intends to find Yun Niang but discovers that she has already moved away. In fact, Yun Niang was the person who conveyed messages from Zhong Xi Wu to Hua Qian's side.

In the evening, as Hua Qian was preparing to go home, she realized that someone was following her. Initially, she intended to use the weapon given to her by Hua Rong Zhou to kill the person, but when she turned around, she was surprised to see that it was actually Hua Rong Zhou.

Hua Qian's father also learned that Zhong Xi Wu had come, so he hurriedly went to greet him. Zhong Xi Wu asked everyone to leave. In fact, Hua Qian's father had always been aware that his daughter was investigating him, but he didn't mind because she was his own daughter.

Zhong Xi Wu admitted that he might not be a good ruler, but he was a good father. During this time, Hua Rong Zhou had been by Hua Qian's side, and upon hearing that Hua Rong Zhou was skilled in martial arts, their neighbor asked him to teach them.

Coincidentally, they learned that there had been no one attending to the affairs of the Hua residence since the departure of the steward and the lady. Hua Qian was worried, and Hua Rong Zhou knew that she wanted to return. He had been sitting with her on a swing all day until evening, but she was still concerned about the safety of her parents.

In the end, Hua Qian didn't go back. She continued to live a simple life in the countryside with Hua Rong Zhou. However, one day, she looked up by the creek and saw Zhong Xi Wu. Hua Rong Zhou left, knowing that Hua Qian had many things to say to Zhong Xi Wu. After Hua Qian approached Zhong Xi Wu, she learned that her parents were actually still alive; they had just left the Hua residence.

Hua Qian burst into laughter. She was grateful to Zhong Xi Wu, and she chose to believe in him after all. Upon returning home, Hua Qian had Hua Rong Zhou deliver the pastries she made to Zhong Xi Wu.

Hua Qian had always smelled the fragrance of incense, which was actually Zhong Xi Wu taking care of her all along. Everything Hua Qian thought was beautiful turned out to be nothing more than a dream.
