Episode 10 recap: Lu Zhi planned to murder Lu Yuan Bao and forge a will.
Lu Zhong spoke up and told Lu Zhi that Lu Yuan Bao wanted to kill him. Lu Zhi asked if it was difficult to kill him, and Lu Zhong said that killing him was easy, but killing without leaving a trace and avoiding legal issues was better. Afterward, Lu Zhi sought out Cheng Yi Zhi and expressed his desire to continue and accelerate the plan against Lu Yuan Bao.
Lu Zhi then approached Zhang Gui and Chen Wang to obtain the prescription and will, instructing them to carry out their tasks. He then handed over the prescription and will to another person. Suddenly, Lu Zhong spoke up again and told Lu Zhi that Lu Yuan Bao wanted to kill him. Lu Zhong used to be involved in robbery and theft, known as "Blood Hu Lu" in the martial world. One time, they targeted a group of merchants, and Lu Zhong betrayed and killed all his comrades, leaving only Lu Yuan Bao alive because Lu Yuan Bao was a mute and posed no threat.
Lu Zhi was brought back to the Lu residence by Lu Zhong, but this time he didn't want to involve Lu Zhong. He willingly let Lu Zhong kill him. However, Lu Zhong didn't kill Lu Zhi. Even if he died, he wouldn't harm Lu Zhi. To avoid arousing suspicion, he wanted Lu Yuan Bao to die first, ensuring a flawless plan. Lu Zhi would then inherit the family fortune as his adopted son. Lu Zhi expressed his willingness to honor Lu Zhong as his father if everything went according to plan.
Returning to the Lu residence, Lu Zhi was hidden in a secluded old house by Zhang Gui and Chen Wang. While they were eating and drinking, Lu Zhi mentioned his plan to kill Lu Yuan Bao and divide the inheritance. Chen Wang lacked confidence, but was determined to protect Lu Zhi. Zhang Gui and Liu Shi Qi were willing to help Lu Zhi as a way of repaying him, so the four of them made a blood oath.
When the students were whipping Wang Fu Zi with a copper ruler, Lu Zhi walked in. He specifically asked Wang Fu Zi to fulfill his last wish and requested help in finding Qiao Gou Er's head, which was lost. Wang Fu Zi looked at the box Lu Zhi brought and panicked, crying and admitting to the accidental killing. However, Lu Zhi insisted that Qiao Gou Er's injuries were too obvious.
It turned out that when Qiao Gou Er returned to steal a pen, it was meant as a gift for Xiao Bao to teach him writing. But he was caught by Wang Fu Zi, who berated him as a thief and accused him of being a burden to society without anyone to support him. They fought, and later they discovered that Qiao Gou Er had died. To conceal the incident, they cut off his head and left the body behind the stage. That night, Qiao Gou Er started appearing in Lu Zhi's dreams, and he lived in guilt every day, constantly whipping himself. Later, the students joined in to repay their debts.
Lu Zhi wanted to report the case, but Wang Fu Zi begged him to provide a way out. He reluctantly agreed and asked Wang Fu Zi to write down the full account of the incident as he requested. Zhang Gui kept this evidence and asked Wang Fu Zi for a small favor in return.

Wang Fuzi realized that he had been blackmailed by Lu Zhi, but it was too late. Next, it was Cheng Yizhi's turn. Originally, Cheng Yizhi was a headache because of his intelligence, but unexpectedly Chen Wang had already set the stage for Lu Zhi.
When Cheng Yizhi was caught stealing by Lu Zhi, Chen Wang used this list to make Cheng Yizhi sign a contract and instructed him to delay Lu Yuanbao for a day. So Cheng Yizhi added a medicine to the prescription, causing Lu Yuanbao to sleep for a whole day, and this happened every few days.
Later, Chen Wang used this prescription to threaten Cheng Yizhi and said that it had to be kept by the young master. Cheng Yizhi saw that the other party had leverage and didn't want to go to jail, so he asked Chen Wang for help. Chen Wang suggested that only his brother Lu Zhi had a way to save him.
Cheng Yizhi wanted to become sworn brothers with Chen Wang, but Chen Wang didn't want to be of a lower status. It turned out that he had already set his sights on Cheng Yizhi's daughter. Angry, Cheng Yizhi knocked over the drinks and said that even if he died, he would not fulfill Chen Wang's desires.
At that moment, Chen Wang met Leng Wujin as soon as he went out, and Lu Zhi had already informed Leng Wujin about Cheng Yizhi's theft. Chen Wang lied and said that he came to ask for marriage with Cheng Yizhi. Leng Wujin said that it depended on fate, and advised him to strive for progress as a man.
Seeing that Chen Wang was going to drink alone with Leng Wujin, Cheng Yizhi agreed to the marriage. Lu Zhi expressed his astonishment that Cheng Yizhi had ruined his daughter's future for his own prospects. Knowing his character, Lu Zhi and Chen Wang staged another act.
Chen Wang was tied up in the firewood room, and Lu Zhi, acting as the young master, called Cheng Yizhi to confront him, claiming that he and Chen Wang conspired to harm Lu Yuanbao with poison. Cheng Yizhi denied it, but Chen Wang contradicted him, saying that Cheng Yizhi used his daughter as bait to steal money from the master. No one wanted to believe that he would marry his daughter to a servant.
Cheng Yizhi had grievances he couldn't express. Lu Zhi threatened to take the evidence, the prescription, and the marriage certificate to the government office. At that moment, Cheng Yizhi didn't want to live anymore. Lu Zhi comforted Cheng Yizhi, saying that he could help him dissolve the marriage and refrain from reporting, but the condition was for him to continue doing things against Lu Yuanbao, and it had to be done quickly.
Wang Fuzi began to imitate Lu Yuanbao's handwriting as requested by Lu Zhi, writing a will with a weak and feeble style. In order to achieve the effect, Wang Fuzi had gone hungry for two days. Cheng Yizhi prepared the prescriptions for Chen Wang and Lu Yuanbao, but mixing the two prescriptions would be lethal.
Zhang Gui and Chen Wang handed the prescriptions and the will to Lu Zhi, who then handed them over to Lu Zhong. The next day, Lu Yuanbao's younger brother, Lu Jinxin, came with his whole family to reunite at Lu Yuanbao's house. Lu Zhi was dumbfounded. He was not the sole heir; Lu Jinxin introduced his son, Lu Buyou, and said that this would be their home in the future.
Lu Zhong also didn't know that Lu Yuanbao had a family, but they had been sending money and assets through the business to their brothers. However, this money was meant for the brothers, and even if the will was well forged, it was completely useless.
