Episode 6 recap: Ming Ya strategizes to win over Beishuo.
Ming Ya inquires about Beishuo's background. Beishuo's father died in battle with an enemy nation, and Beishuo sought revenge by killing the enemy general and his son. He also captured the general's daughter. Ming Ya is surprised to learn that Beishuo also enjoys forced affection. When she approaches Beishuo, her disheveled hairstyle unexpectedly decreases his fondness for her.
Ming Ya believes she needs to be more melodramatic. She tries to seduce Beishuo, but his maids and attendants are present, which displeases him, causing his fondness to further decline. Ming Ya feels extremely frustrated as her efforts are backfiring. A woman approaches Ming Ya, claiming to be Beishuo's cousin and future Crown Princess.
Ming Ya believes this person must have a good understanding of Beishuo and asks her what type of woman Beishuo likes, but Beishuo's cousin refuses to answer. Ming Ya takes out a knife, and Beishuo's cousin pretends to be frightened, saying that Beishuo has been having a recurring dream about a woman who sacrificed herself to save him. Beishuo has had this dream repeatedly, and his attendant suggests that if Beishuo has doubts, he should investigate further.
Beishuo admits that he is Ming Ya's father's enemy, and perhaps their mutual hatred is for the best. Ming Ya decides to do something even more melodramatic. She approaches Beishuo and says she is going back to the border, searching for the person who told her that they would meet again in the next life.
