Episode 2 recap: The Chief Minister threatened Bai Zai Zai to leave the palace.

Liu Chang Jie held Bai Yu Yu in his arms and whispered to her, saying that he had saved her once again and asked how she planned to repay him. Bai Yu Yu shyly replied, "Whatever the Third Prince desires." Bai Zai Zai stayed in the residence of the Second Prince. In the morning, she left her quarters and headed towards Liu Chang Ge's residence, crossing a large courtyard. Bai Zai Zai couldn't help but sigh at the extravagant lifestyle of Liu Chang Ge.

Two maidservants, upon seeing her, whispered behind Bai Zai Zai, undoubtedly discussing the romantic debts owed by the Second Prince. The steward, Chief Minister Wang, dismissed the maidservants and watched Bai Zai Zai's figure with a pensive expression. Bai Zai Zai arrived at Liu Chang Ge's residence and asked him why he had summoned her. Unexpectedly, Liu Chang Ge ordered her to stand guard right in front of him.

Standing guard was an important duty of the guards. Bai Zai Zai initially expressed her disagreement, but Liu Chang Ge threatened to withhold her wages. With no choice but to swallow her pride, Bai Zai Zai reluctantly stood guard. Unbeknownst to her, Liu Chang Ge was painting a portrait of her.

Chief Minister Wang came over to deliver tea and, upon seeing Bai Zai Zai, suddenly recalled Shen Yi's daughter, Shen Xing. The two resembled each other greatly. Following Liu Chang Ge's instructions, the maidservants brought all of Bai Zai Zai's meals into her room. However, Bai Zai Zai showed no interest in the sumptuous dishes. She pleaded with the maidservants to bring her a plate of fresh red carrots.

As she relished the delicious taste, Chief Minister Wang entered the room. He brought two silver ingots and implied that Bai Zai Zai should leave the place. He also informed her that a girl who looked very similar to her had inexplicably disappeared from the palace before.
