Episode 24 recap: The Emperor granted permission for Liu Chang Ge and Bai Zai Zai to retire to the mountains and forests.

Shen Yi and her allies were completely eradicated. The Emperor issued a decree, ensuring that the villains received the punishment they deserved. Liu Chang Jie was also stripped of his throne. The Emperor commanded the princes to learn from this lesson and not let such incidents happen again, or else they would face merciless execution. Gong Sun Qing told her brother, Gong Sun Zan, that she believed she had come from a time-traveling experience. However, based on her experiences, not everyone who traveled through time could become the protagonist. Fortunately, with her brother by her side, her life was not so miserable.

Gong Sun Zan advised his sister not to overthink it. Currently, the barbarians were wreaking havoc in the northern border, presenting a great opportunity for them to achieve success. Gong Sun Qing agreed with her brother's words, and the two siblings hurried to the border. Liu Chang Ge came to see his father, reporting that Shen Yi had died and the antidote for her poison had been mass-produced after being tested. The officials, including Wang Xia, who were affected by the poison, would soon be cured.

The Emperor sighed, expressing his astonishment at Shen Yi's wickedness. He was grateful that he had followed Liu Chang Ge's advice, using schemes to force Shen Yi to rebel prematurely, which allowed him to capture all of her accomplices. The Emperor said that just as Liu Chang Ge had helped him launch a rebellion and seize the throne last time, he had once again helped him stabilize the country.

Liu Chang Ge knelt down and asked his father to agree to two things. The first was that although Wang Xia was somewhat greedy, he was loyal to the Liu family. Liu Chang Ge earnestly requested his father's permission to let him return to the palace and continue serving as the Grand Internal Manager. After contemplating for a moment, the Emperor nodded in agreement. Liu Chang Ge then requested his father's permission to retire to the mountains and forests with Bai Zai Zai.

The Emperor mentioned that Liu Chang Ge was destined to become an emperor in the future. However, Liu Chang Ge stated that since the day he handed over the military command, he hadn't considered inheriting the throne. Seeing that Liu Chang Ge had made up his mind, the Emperor reluctantly agreed. Liu Chang Ge met with Bai Zai Zai and told her that from now on, she would be the only queen by his side. Bai Zai Zai happily replied that from now on, he could only accompany her to eat radishes.

The two shared a smile and embraced each other happily.
