Episode 4 recap: Bai Zai Zai foiled Gong Sun Qing.

Gong Sun Qing flattered and said that the prince trusted Chief Minister Wang the most, so she asked him to deliver the document to the prince. Chief Minister Wang's eyes lit up as soon as he saw the silver, and he eagerly took it, repeatedly saying it was no trouble. After reading Gong Sun Qing's document, Liu Chang Ge found it to be an ingenious idea for implementing shared carriages. He decided to meet this Gong Sun Qing in person.

Gong Sun Qing arrived at the palace and displayed her talents and accomplishments in front of the prince. She excelled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Hearing Gong Sun Qing's eloquence, Liu Chang Ge praised her as the top talented woman of their dynasty. Gong Sun Qing felt proud and sarcastically mocked Bai Zai Zai standing nearby, calling her nothing more than a glutton who only knew how to eat carrots.

Bai Zai Zai was displeased and decided to show off her own abilities. Why should she bother herself with trouble? So, she immediately gave Gong Sun Qing a challenge. Since she was so quick-witted and eloquent, she should improvise and compose a poem about carrots. Upon hearing this, Gong Sun Qing felt worried. All her eloquence came from the works of previous scholars that she had memorized. She had never heard of anyone writing a poem about carrots before.

Not wanting to embarrass herself in front of Liu Chang Ge, Gong Sun Qing hastily excused herself, claiming sudden discomfort in her body, and hurriedly left the palace. As she left, she intentionally pushed Bai Zai Zai, which happened to push her into the arms of Liu Chang Ge.

Gong Sun Qing became even angrier. When she returned home, she started smashing plates and bowls without any explanation. Her brother, Gong Sun Zan, quickly stopped her and promised to take revenge on Bai Zai Zai on her behalf.
