Episode 13 recap: Hu Xiaodie sought Liu Feifan to uncover the truth of the matter.

Hu Xiaodie suggested that since Liu Feifan wouldn't come out, they should take the initiative to lure him out. Watson was blocked when trying to stop the car, so he could only watch as Hu Xiaodie left first. Hu Xiaodie climbed through Liu Feifan's window, and Liu Feifan was pleasantly surprised. He even imagined a scene of reconciliation between them. Hu Xiaodie explained that she chose this path because he had been avoiding her all along. Liu Feifan suggested that since they finally met, they should have a good conversation.

Hu Xiaodie asked Liu Feifan if he had seen Wang Lili on the day of her death. Liu Feifan initially admitted that he did have a brief romantic relationship with Wang Lili. Hu Xiaodie told him not to digress and to focus on the main point. Liu Feifan explained that on the day they got engaged, Wang Lili suddenly stopped him and suggested that they meet properly after a few days when their new film was released. He also mentioned that he had told her that he had genuine feelings for Hu Xiaodie. Wang Lili proposed meeting up properly then.

Liu Feifan mentioned that this matter had wide implications and hoped that Hu Xiaodie wouldn't pursue it further, as otherwise her fate would be the same as Tian Ma's. Hu Xiaodie asked how he would know about that. Liu Feifan said that she had previously come to him to sell a ring and had threatened him with a pocket watch. Hu Xiaodie stated that he killed her because Tian Ma had threatened him. Liu Feifan claimed that he was innocent and that he had only followed her for a few days.

Hu Xiaodie returned home drunk but didn't see any sign of Huasheng. She could only entertain herself alone. Liu Feifan received a letter containing photos of him and Wang Lili, with a note on the back inviting him to meet at eight o'clock.
