Episode 17 recap: Watson and Hu Xiaodie talked about Zhou Lingling.
Watson was searching for clues about Lingling's disappearance because of the emerald ring on Wang Lili's hand. After discussing with Manager Wu, she was still kicked out, but it was Hu Xiaodie's appearance that allowed her to stay. By chance, Watson entered Wang Lili's dressing room, and the reason she stayed was to get closer to Wang Lili.
Watson talked about what happened five years ago. Zhou Lingling was her classmate and her best friend. As the only daughter of Zhou Shihao, she couldn't believe such a thing could happen. Watson was taken away by the police when she came back to report the incident. She suffered a lot of torture in prison, but thanks to the belief of Mr. Zhou, she was given a chance to come out.
After seeing the photos, Hu Xiaodie unexpectedly discovered that she was also in them. Back then, she was selling sweet potatoes outside the police station gate. When she saw Watson covered in blood, she took her away. Watson revealed that she only recently found out that the man from back then was her. When Hu Xiaodie saw that Watson was about to leave, she asked where she was going and if she was going to leave her behind again. Watson said she had something to do. After Hu Xiaodie repeatedly questioned her, Watson agreed to take her along.
Zhou Shihao expressed joy that Hu Xiaodie was accompanying Watson. Watson gave Zhou Lingling's ring to Zhou Shihao, but he directly gifted the ring back to Watson. Watson openly stated that as long as they found the killer in the Wang Lili case, they would definitely uncover the reason behind Lingling's disappearance. Zhou Shihao expressed his hope that they would take care of each other during the investigation, and Hu Xiaodie firmly stated that she would protect Watson.
