Episode 7 recap: Detective Duan confronts Huasheng face to face.
Wang Lili's nanny was pleased with herself as she wore the emerald ring on her hand. The next day, she went to a pawnshop hoping they could help appraise the ring. However, due to the unclear origin of the ring, the pawnshop clerk was hesitant to accept it. Huasheng acquired some medication and inquired about Wang Lili's nanny, who mentioned her visit to the pawnshop. Huasheng then sought out the shop owner. After some questioning, the owner suggested that the ring and the necklace in the woman's photo might be a match, but a physical examination was needed for a definitive judgment.
Detective Duan encountered Huasheng on the street and advised him not to withhold any information from the detective's office if there were any updates on the case. Huasheng replied that he was overthinking things. Detective Duan asked if he had forgotten about Zhou Lingling from before. Huasheng returned to his room, and Hu Xiaodie expressed her frustration at not being left a note when he went out. Huasheng said that even if he left a note, she wouldn't be able to understand it. Hu Xiaodie presented Huasheng's most cherished jade stone, which she had repaired. Huasheng openly stated that it was a gift from his best friend. Recalling Detective Duan asking if he remembered Zhou Lingling, he claimed he didn't. Upon hearing about the nanny's situation, Hu Xiaodie asserted that she must be the one plotting for wealth and harm. Huasheng remarked that she had too many gray brain cells.
Huasheng located the hiding place of the nanny and, accompanied by Hu Xiaodie, went there. Upon the nanny's realization of the presence of firearms, she expressed her willingness to cooperate fully.
