Episode 8 recap: There has been a major development in the case of Wang Lili.
Hu Xiaodie asked Aunt Tian if Wang Lili had greedily taken a lot of treasures before her death. Aunt Tian said she didn't understand what she was talking about. Hu Xiaodie suggested taking her to the jewelry store to inquire. Aunt Tian claimed that she had simply taken advantage of the situation and hadn't killed anyone. After Hu Xiaodie's questioning, Aunt Tian finally revealed that the person Wang Lili was going to entertain that day was Master Liu, but she really didn't know much else.
Hu Xiaodie had a dream at night and woke up to see that Qingqing's hair was wet again. She asked what Qingqing had done, and Qingqing said she had just gone to buy breakfast for her. Hu Xiaodie honestly admitted that she had dreamt of Aunt Tian being killed, so she was a bit worried and wanted to go check. Sure enough, when the two arrived at the location, Aunt Tian had already hanged herself. Chief Duan questioned why she was always present at crime scenes. Hu Xiaodie said if she had known, she would have taken Liu Mama to the police station for questioning. She claimed that the person who killed Aunt Tian was Liu Feifan, the one she had returned the hairpin to before. Lang Ning argued that Aunt Tian had committed suicide this time because she was afraid of the exposure of her killing Wang Lili. Chief Duan saw Xiaoding after that and told her not to disturb the crime scene. Hu Xiaodie praised Detective Lang Ning for his eloquence.
Watson pointed out that the deceased was even shorter than himself, and with her height, she wouldn't have been able to reach the rope. Chief Duan acknowledged that there were still many doubts in this case and immediately pulled up the relevant information about the Wang Lili case at the police station to figure out what exactly happened with the knot.
